is pink color OK for the master bedroom pink color for master bedroom
Comments (25)Yes, I think pink is a beautiful color for a master bedroom! The trick is picking the right pink and then balancing it with other elements that are not overly feminine. I love pink and brown together, or black. When choosing a grownup ink go to the brown section in your color deck. As you move up to the lighter colors you will see what I refer to as dirty pinks. These are softer, more pleasing pinks that men can love....See Morehelp finishing master bedroom
Comments (35)I wanted to pop back on for anyone who may have been following this thread that may be interested in any progress I’ve made. I didn’t mean to go so silent, things in our world just got a little hectic and this project got pushed down the list. No major changes, but a couple of updates. I did add some gallery frames at eye level in the entry hall. I really love them (mainly because of the photos I chose), and stop to stare at them often! I rehomed some of our throw pillows to the living room and added this blue velvet one from Pottery Barn. That actually reduced the number of “extra” pillows on the bed by three, which made my husband quite happy! The biggest thing is probably this bench I found, which we are really enjoying! My husband used to sit on the foot of the bed in the morning to put his socks on, typically while I’m still in bed. We have a SleepNumber, so it would throw off the distribution and disrupt my sleep. This way, the bench adds a pop to the room and is also functional. :) I haven’t addressed the mirror or “too high” wall hanging yet. I do have something sentimental coming that will hang above our bed. Would love to eventually change out our nightstands... but we’re in the process of growing our family and I don’t want to swap inexpensive for inexpensive, so I think I will wait on those so that I can really invest in them. I also haven’t decided if we will add a dresser or not. For now I’m kind of thinking no as we don’t need the storage, and if we eventually have a bassinet in our room it may begin to feel crowded. Will revisit that later! I don’t know that this is all that important to anyone, but everyone was so good to reply to my initial post, so I felt I owed an update!...See Morefinishing touches in master bedroom
Comments (18)Are you sufficiently adept at sewing to add a band to the drapes to make then longer so you can raise them? I’m not a fan of dried floral floor arrangements. I would also jettison the candle/flowers on the dresser. They look a bit dated to me. I agree with the advice to move the chair out of the room. Whether you move it to another room or totally out of the house is your call. I like the pillows in celerygirl’s post. I think your bedside lamps and their shades are fine. I would put a lamp on the dresser, re-orient the mirror to off-center vertical, and maybe a tray with a pretty box or dish for rings, small family photos in pretty frames, and a small green plant....See MoreNeed help to finish the master bedroom
Comments (24)Thank you for all the feedback and inputs. I will work on it and come back to you. The tall bed idea (poster) could also be this one: It is 84 inches high, I find it interesting... It comes in dark grey, light grey and sand/cream.. decoenthusiaste yes, today the chest are at the top of the mattress level, and I agree, the lamps are visually skinny, even if the base is made of glass and is quite large. The mirrors are here to bring some light. They look really small on the pic; they are 4 x 3 ft... but I agree, I have to replace them for much taller ones, especially if I go with a tall headboard. As for the rug, I too like to have one big rug under the bed but I will need to check how I can do that. I have a 9 x 12 Bakhtiari rug that I will need to put somewhere (we have two large dogs so living room is not an option) but considering the size of the chests I guess it might not cover enough space - chest are 4ft wide, so 4 x2 + 6 = 14 ft with the bed + gap between bed and chests, I am short of 1 1/2 ft each side :( everdebz, I agree metal could be nice, I like the idea that it is not heavy looking. the downside is that it brings a sense of coldness. But I will do some researches. The fireplace has been a topic indeed, this winter I installed a linear fireplace in the living room, it looks amazing (even if I still have a bit of painting to do around it), so I was thinking that I could redo that in the bedroom but I have a very long console against the wall so my options are out - and we live in Florida anyway ;) Florida is also a reason why the blue tones are working quite well (and blues are part of my colors) As for wallpaper, I the walls have a kind of texture: So i am not sure on how the wallpaper could work (unless it is a very thick one)?...See MoreGloria
