Making old patio and new pool deck work together

So we're having a pool put in. Unfortunately we already have a large concrete slab patio in. It's pretty plain. No color, no stamping, just a little line work and has rounded corners. The pool on the other hand, we'd really like more modern. It'll be a modified L shape, Cabo shelf, bond beam along the back. We'd like the edges to be very squared. The pool and patio are pretty close to each other as our yard isn't huge. Thing is I really don't want the concrete around the pool to look like the patio concrete as I don't like the patio all that much.

At this time it'll be too much for us to take out the existing patio and have it redone so that it'll match better with the pool.

Any ideas on how to make these two features flow enough while being a lot less than ripping the patio up? Do we just make them completely different looking and put some plants or landscape feature in between to separate them somewhat? Would staining/sealing the patio be enough? Or is there another material that would have a modern look that's not ridiculously expensive we could use for pool decking instead of concrete?

Please excuse all the weeds lol! Just haven't been taking care of the yard since the pool will be going in haha.

Thanks for any input!
