which type of neighborhood would you choose/what DID you choose?
Comments (16)Either B or C...we're not the cheapest house in the neighborhood but there are some that are significantly larger/more extravagant/ pricier than ours. The neighborhood began development about 20 years ago. The original builder is completing the development. We actually chose the neighborhood before we decided to build. We chose it for the school system (best in the city), location (very close commute to work, shopping, highway, etc), and the overall feel. When we walked around while shopping for houses, other people stopped us to introduce themselves and tell us how much they liked their house, neighborhood, and the builder. We also ran into about 7 different acquaintances that all lived there! We looked at another development that is newer but the houses all backed up to each other so the backyards were not private. That was a deal breaker for us. We couldn't find a house in our price range to buy in our chosen neighborhood, so we bought the last lot and are currently builder. So far, relatively smooth sailing....See MoreWhich fixture would you choose for my powder room?
Comments (13)My fixtures are all set and so I won't be replacing them as there are more of them than this one. I have used polished nickel and chrome in a different bathroom when the lighting option didn't have chrome. It blends easily there. We moved and redid things 3.5 years ago when we bought the house and just want to refresh as I didn't put as much thought into the powder room vs other parts of the house then. So I'm hiring a wallpaper guy who can swap out the light but don't want to hire a plumber/electrician and redo everything as it's all relatively new....See MoreIf you could have any kitchen layout, which one would you choose?
Comments (15)I did an L shaped with Island. It works for the way we cook and entertain. In past kitchens... We have had a G shaped , A giant U shaped with inside U island. (really a barrier), Galley kitchen, a galley that turned into a L at the end, a U with a peninsula, an L shaped.. and when we did our final kitchen. We chose an L shape with giant Island and wide wide aiels to accommodate friends and multiple cooks. Think about the way you cook. If my kitchen were only about cooking I would do the Galley as that is easy for a single cook with various work stations and saves on stepping to complete a task....See MoreWhich 3 https://ruggable.com rugs would you place in this room?
Comments (0)Hi, Houzzers, Which three rugs from ruggable.com would you pair together for this open space? Re: size, I'm thinking one 2.5x7 runner, one 8x10 for the hangout area (center), and one 5x7 for the dining area (right). I'll also need one 3x5 for the kitchen (you can see kitchen bar counter starting in far right). Wood is engineered white oak hardwood. Thanks! Much appreciated....See MoreR P
