Two Pendant lights over sink??
Comments (9)That was my original hope, to put pendants above the peninsula. But, they way the lights are laid out, I will only be able to do one. If I did the other, the cabinet door would hit it every time it opened. I am afraid just one will look silly. The problem with these lights is the design around them. We are kind of stuck with their locations. :-(...See MorePendant Lights Over Large Kitchen Island
Comments (2)It is a large kitchen and completely open to the family room. The center island is 128" (we refer to it as the cooking island). There are also perimeter cabinets and a 48" gas range. The hardwood floors are being installed now and the cabinets will be installed in about a week, so I don't have a good picture yet to capture the size of the space. We have 10 foot ceilings and an entire wall of windows, so everything is very open. I have attached a picture from a few weeks ago. It is from the perspective of the kitchen looking into the family room. The "island" you see is just the support for what will be the raised portion of the island (the bar top). I hope this helps....See MorePendant lighting over island
Comments (27)This is why I always have the electrician run the supply wires in the ceiling, with plenty of slack. We wait until after the drywall is done to cut the holes and use remodel boxes. People can’t visualize. Even when you draw them diagrams. Or, do an actual real completed DESIGN from the beginning, with all choices measured and specified, and SET. Instead of winging it without the ability to visualize. Design BEFORE you do any demolition or building anything. Then the boxes and lights go where they need to go with no angst....See MoreHELP please… How to space 3 pendant lights over 9’ island?
Comments (12)Yes, I had to do that too. Tape the island size on the sub floors or build one from cardboard...this will bug you if you get it wrong. Or just go with what you were reading as a recommendation. Good luck! Make sure that you have plenty of aisle width planned, the island electrical won't let you push the cabinets a few inches either way....See MoreDeb
