Pendant lighting for two islands
Comments (4)Also you want to keep 12-18 inches from edge of island, also hiring a designer for small projects like this can sometimes pay off in the end getting the best solution and options. Comments (2)It is a large kitchen and completely open to the family room. The center island is 128" (we refer to it as the cooking island). There are also perimeter cabinets and a 48" gas range. The hardwood floors are being installed now and the cabinets will be installed in about a week, so I don't have a good picture yet to capture the size of the space. We have 10 foot ceilings and an entire wall of windows, so everything is very open. I have attached a picture from a few weeks ago. It is from the perspective of the kitchen looking into the family room. The "island" you see is just the support for what will be the raised portion of the island (the bar top). Comments (5)Generally, a pendant light over a peninsula or island should be spaced about 24 inches apart. You don't mention the length of the counter, but 7 lights seems a little (lot?) excessive. Maybe 5 lights at the most?...See MoreWhat size pendant lights over island 108" x 54" - prefer 2 oversize
Comments (2)Some photos are attached. Island top is 108" x 54", waterfall top, honed black pearl granite. White cabinets. Ceilings flat 9'. Kitchen is open on 2 sides. Need advice on size of pendants if using two oversize pendants. I'm thinking width somewhere in 24" - 36" range depending on height, shape etc... I don't want them to look too big nor too small. I can use 3 pendants also, not set on 2 or 3, not sure. There are photos below of the type of pendants I'm leaning toward as of today but I'm open. The backsplash and hood behind it will be a pretty bold porcelain and I don't want to distract from that either (photos below)....See MoreDeb
