How to clean older Travertine tiles in shower
Comments (3)Since you haven't received a response in a month, I am going to tell you what I do...even if it is against all that they tell you. If you are trying to get mold off, I would spray with Tilex, let it sit a minute until the mold turns white and then rinse and rinse some more. The secret is to rinse off the Tilex or the tiles will bleach. I have done this many times in the 20 years that I have had travertine in my shower...and the tiles look like new. Good luck!...See MoreHow do you safely remove cracked travertine marble tiles?
Comments (3)Cut out all the grout connecting the affected tiles first. Grout transfers vibration and hammer blows to other tiles and will crack them. Best way i have found to do this is to use clear packing tape and completely cover the bad tiles.... then tap them with a hammer several times and all the pieces will stay put and don't go flying everywhere. Lift the tape up and the tile will come up with it. Then I usually use a 5in1 painters tool to scrape off the thinset. Still wear safety glasses....See More3 cm Travertine pavers or 3/8 inch Travertine tile for pool deck
Comments (0)Is there a difference in durability of the two sizes? They are silver travertine but the paver is thicker and a bit more expensive than the silver travertine tile. Is there any pros/cons about either of these?...See MoreUsing polished travertine tile with a tumbled travertine medallion
Comments (1)I wouldn't mix them. It can look very odd to have a shiny item right next to a very dull item on a floor. And tumbled travertine is VERY pourous and will get VERY dirty VERY quickly...and it is pitted MUCH MORE than polished. Tumbled travertine floors are VERY hard to live with (they are softer than marble). Polished is impressive...It would be like sitting an glorious ice cube next to a dirty sponge. It would be hard to marry the two even if the colours match....See MoreMrs. S
