It was my understanding that chrome is the same color across the manufacturers. Are you sure the robe hook isn't polished nickel or stainless steel? Though brass is usually chrome-plated. Could they have sent you the wrong hook? Does it have a blue undertone?

It's definitely chrome. I just took a picture but I'm almost embarressed to post it. They don't look all that different in the picture. In person they do look different. Maybe I'm being too picky.

It's hard to tell but you see it and that's what matters.

To be honest, I don't see any similarities in style. Pinstripe has squared, masculine lines. It's designed to look mechanical by mimicking nuts and bolts.

You can easily find robe hooks with a squared design. Maybe you could get away with a hook and TP holder from another company and splurge on the Pinstripe towel bar as that's the biggest statement hardware in a bath.

I should have clarified. I'm not crazy about the Pinstripe, my husband wanted it. I don't like the nuts and bolts look/shape. It's very prevalent in the accessories, more so than in the faucet. I especially don't like the Octagon shape of the towel ring. I would splurge on the towel ring since it's closest to the faucet, but I just don't like it. I was trying to find an accessory style I could live with that didn't completely fight the Pinstripe. Maybe I should go with another Kohler model for all the accessories. The Kohler prices are all over the place though. The Pinstripe towel ring is about $180.00, The Margaux is about $90.00 and the Devonshire is about $20.00. Who knows if the chrome will look the same on the less expensive pieces.
