Exterior damage on Tudor look Home
Comments (12)If this were only a cosmetic issue millworkman & I wouldn't be so concerned. Real stucco would thwart the most determined woodpecker. I sincerely hope I'm wrong about possible damage behind that "stucco". When the present siding is removed, if you find water damage, make sure to take lots of photos...and get your insurance agent to come out in person to view it. Because, in that instance, your homeowner's policy might cover some of the cost....See MoreHelp with Tudor style exterior color renovation
Comments (16)I have a different take on this house. I find the 2 tudor peaks odd. There is no other Tudor detail anywhere else on the front of the house and while the peaks are the same shape, they have different detailing. I would change this so that the peaks look exactly the same, maybe adding a window to the left side. I would replace the Tudor details with decorative siding and paint the same colour as the trim. As for painting the brick, I would start by painting all the trim a lighter colour (including the peaks) then see how it looks. This is a very pretty house and would look better in a light colour. But because it's a big decision, perhaps go in stages and leave the decision to paint the brick to the very last. Good luck!...See MoreExterior Paint on a 1906 Tudor Revival and LOOK at my new windows...
Comments (18)What a beautiful charmer! You must be having so much fun playing dress up with this gorgeous house! I think you made a solid choice with the black windows and they look great. I'm marinating on the how we can brighten up that amazing front porch...so stay tuned for more on that. I dont think painting the stone is completely off the table. I would obviously only do the exterior siding and leave foundational stone natural like it is. I think painting might brighten it up a bit and plus I love the uneven texture that comes out once its painted. On your two windows that pop out on front and side of house, if budget permits, a copper roof might be fun?...See MoreTudor style house exterior makeover S.O.S.!
Comments (3)Is your current budget for a complete new paint job or more extensive work? For complete new paint, I suggest a "cedar" color take from the reddish bricks for the shakes with an offwhite trim to match the lighter stones. If just repainting the trim, use the offwhite of the stones as a guide. Please post an update when you are ready....See MoreTilly Teabag
