Soliciting help to make this farm a home for all things growing..
Comments (3)Start with your vision of the future. Do you want your place to look "more" like farm and not like a subdivision house? What makes a place "home" for you? Understand that grass is not a home for many things. Do you want more privacy for the front of your home? Then you may want to start with grass removal and an informal design to attract birds and nesting. There are too many places to start, so pick one area and develop that. Perhaps because the front is so tidy, or more activities will be in back, you'll want to start there, instead of the front. Lucky you! So much fun ahead. Comments (7)There are many toxic plants that grow all around us so that shouldn't scare you. And its been a while (I think I was a kid the last time I find any jimsonweed growing wild around here), but I seem to recall the plants/foliage having a foul smell. Probably even more so to dogs so I can't imagine they would ever bother it. I just mention it since many folks think toxic equals bad and you don't have to obliterate it because it is toxic. Some sources list the Americas as the native place for this species and some Asia. It seems to be unclear. I live in Western NY State - pretty similar and close to NE Ohio. The only place I've seen this plant was in places most other plants wouldn't/couldn't grow. And in fact, I haven't seen any in decades. I don't think it will overrun your place. Comments (4)I’ll was planning to give my neighbor’s Wild Thing a quick check by Monday. Now I’ll challenge him to get the previous owner to show him it will run. His 2nd challenge will be to get his Job’s shop to start it. I have used his two cycle tiller that they maintain and it starts and runs “effortless”. I find myself doing for my neighbor what he will not do for himself. Plus, get complaints about what I do for myself vs having it done. “Economics” and Pride of not being Helpless Is My Point… It’s strange, to own a Full Roll-Around Snap-On Tool Chest the last 10 years but will not service the simplest repairs. He is a supervisor on his Job. My feeling is he should be able to show how repairs or Etc are to be done vs “Asking How”. I feel the set of tools were required in a Job Training Matter vs an Interest. I’ll stop and see how the Wild Thing goes Without My Help or Clean His Front and Side Yards “Again” of leaves while he Watches The Games On TV. I’ll keep in mind what does not work is mine. Plus it sounds as If I have a problem in this matter. LOL!!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
