Decent couch, coffee table, and rug, but no idea what to do with it.

What do you think about this coffee table?
Comments (40)Lafonda - I also love that coffee table for your sofa. If and when you get it, you can then make decisions about which elements in your room do or do not coordinate with it. What really caught my eye were the two framed pictures against the far wall, presumably waiting to be hung? I did a double-take when I saw them. They look *exactly* like two that we have. We bought the unframed prints in the gift shop of the LaFonda Hotel in Santa Fe, many years ago. They are painted in the style of the Santa Fe School of Indian Art, and are so graceful and lively. The thing is that when I had them framed, I used the *exact* color of your mats and pale, soft blue wooden frames, which are starting to fade now. Have you hung your pictures yet?...See MoreI love it, but what do I do with it? Root table
Comments (5)I could add a glass top, which may have the added benefit of keeping the kids from sitting on it. It's completely sturdy and level unless you put too much weight on a certain spot, then it tips over. As you face the chair, to the right is a fireplace. I tried to leave enough space to have access to the books while still incorporating the chair in the rest of the living area. I'll try dilly's idea of pulling the chair way forward into the main seating area. The wall lamp was a new addition that I never have really liked in that space, so I don't mind getting rid of it. I have a tall ficus I could try out for greenery. I swear I kill anything green, so I never have plants in the house. I'll also move the pic down a bit. As far as other accessories, DH does make a mean martini! Here are some older pics of the room. It's still really bare and stark. I've been looking for the perfect rug since we moved in, so everything else is on hold. I love that pillow! The orange scares me, but it's just a little splash. This from someone who has always loved color but really wants to paint, bleach, and cover every inch of the first floor white a la Darryl Carter...See MoreDoes the couch set, rug, and coffee tables look good together?
Comments (5)Are you limited to just choosing from this collection? If you want pieces that have the same wood finish, then keep looking for what you want. Will it bother you that the sofa feet are another wood tone? I think either rug is fine. Do you have kids/pets? If so, I'd want to make sure the rug and sofas are cleanable :-)...See MoreRug and Coffee table ideas?
Comments (2)Looking good! The rug placement should be based on the sitting area, not the window. Do you need 9x12? Measure for a rug that the front legs of each couch are on it. I'd put a coffee table in front of yoir lighter colored couch. Push the ottoman near to the table like below. So, those seated on ottoman can reach coffee table too ( This pic shows a large rug because the sitting space is big)...See MoreR.D. London Studios
