Can anyone help me find the source of these rugs?
Comments (10)It's a Parade of Homes house, Spring 2013. Maybe you can find information here, and/or ask. Great Neighborhood Homes is the builder. I linked their Houzz account. Owned by Scott and Margaret Busyn - "Margaret worked as an apparel and footwear buyer for a national retailer. Her corporate background, delivering great design while controlling costs, was great experience for her role at Great Neighborhood Homes." She does the interior design. Scott was "was with Target Corporation for 20 years. He was responsible for international product development and sourcing, launching key designer brands like Fieldcrest, Shabby Chic and Thomas O'Brien in over 2500 stores. Scott brings his passion for Target's 'expect more, pay less' philosophy to the custom home business." Comments (8)I bought the same type of rug pads Annie showed in her picture from the flooring/carpet store in my little town. They were less expensive than the online sources; I didn't have to pay shipping; and DH picked them up the same day. I give them my exact rug size and they cut the pad to the correct size (slightly smaller than the rug, but I don't remember precisely how much smaller). Call around and see what your local stores have. I describe it as the stuff that is used for oriental rugs and looks like felt with a rubberized backing....See MoreChunky Braided Rug - Looking for sources
Comments (10)A couple of updates... Having not found a rug with quite the feel of the one from Restoration Hardware, against my better judgement, we purchased the 10' x 14' one from RH. It's arrival was a bit of a disappointment, in that it just didn't have as much appeal as the small sample we saw in the store. It's color is supposed to be 'oatmeal', but is really more beige and there aren't any of the darker spots you can see in the photos above... which makes it a bit uninteresting... kind of 'meh'. You can see it in the photos below.... to me it certainly doesn't look like a $4000 rug. But we're going to live with it because we do like the chunkiness, the size is right, and I'm just tired of looking for a rug. :) The sofas on the other hand are a whole different story and are why I'm posting this follow-up. Perhaps it'll help someone else not make the same mistake. I had assumed Natuzzi sofas were made in Italy and would therefore be constructed with some level of quality, but have now found out otherwise. When we received the two matching sofas last week we liked the color and fabric, but the construction is just horrendous. Our salesperson apologized saying she "can't believe these sofas were let out of the factory"... This is their 'diamond tufts' (compare to the advertized design in the original photo above). Tufts? The seams are unevenly sewn like this on all sides and backs... Seams are so badly done the variation in their vertical location at the face of their arms from one sofa to the other is a full 2 inches... Hard to believe it, but yes, these sofas are supposed to be the one shown in brown in my first post. Although we did like the color, now that we're looking for sofas again, with this rug I'm leaning toward taking Clarece's advice above and am considering a brown leather model from some other maker....See Morerug & green ottomans source
Comments (6)I forgot to comment on ottomans. A bench could be easier to find and may be a better choice. Search Pinterest for antique upholstered benches and there are numerous ideas and links. I saved this inspiration picture a few years ago and thought it may help you envision the bench idea. The one below was customized on line - fabric (I chose velvet), color, leg and frame. Added to a contemporary or traditional room, could be a really interesting choice. https://www.perigold.com/furniture/pdp/maria-yee-maxwell-upholstered-bench-mrca2263.html?epik=dj0yJnU9RlYySzIyT09xM0V3VlNCS2JibjhwSVA4dHVUZU5ibFYmcD0wJm49Q2pHVTB2YnhVbll4Umt2RzdRN3dhZyZ0PUFBQUFBRi1kYmFZ Also try 1stDibs occasionally to see what they have. The one below is absolutely lovely and could be reupholstered in suede, if that’s what you wanted....See Morehollybar
