Need help pairing bathroom mosaic floor tile
Comments (10)I am going with a 2" hex style black and white tile. I love the look of the "old" tiles like the hex and basket weave. I don't like subway, either, though and I felt that glass mosaic didn't look right with either. I'm going with Florida Tile's Calacatta http://www.floridatile.com/products/precious in the shower and a 4 x 4 white square around the tub. I would look at a Calacatta or Cararra porcelain subway (or larger brick style). You'll really need samples of both with your basket weave to make sure that the whites match. In one brand (can't remember which), the Calacatta was too warm, but their Cararra matched well. Florida Tile's Calacatta matched better than the Cararra. It comes in several sizes including an elongated hex and herringbone.... but that may be too busy for the basketweave....See MoreNeed help with bathroom vanity - x-post with Bathrooms
Comments (13)I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero....See MoreHelp me with my bathroom floor tile color selection.
Comments (16)If you retile the floor, it enables you to increase your Zillow listing value - under the category of last year remodel. Yes, you could leave it and allow the new homeowner to do the work themselves, but with so many wanting "move-in ready" ..... (And....Let's face it, most younger homebuyers were at soccer practice or playing video games, rather than helping with yard work or car/ home repairs. So, they know nothing about "how to" around the house,). New Tile Color-. I'd pick a light/-medium gray tone in the countertop. Black will show lots of dust, White might be hard to match to your cabinet color. Perhaps the one closest to the tub? It hard to tell the color for certain. What at color is the bathroom wall? If white, then paint trim to match gray floor....See MoreHelp me with bathroom floor tile color. Thanks! :)
Comments (19)I like the Surface Art better. I think it picks up the colors in the countertop nicely and looks like it might have some slight white that pulls in the white tub tile to pull it all together. It is not really what I would consider a busy tile, but rather a slight color variation. So I don't think it will clash with the countertop....See MoreStephanie Amanda
