Mueller Report Sinks Trump’s Approval Rating To New 2019 Low

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has taken a hit since the redacted Mueller report was released to the public on Thursday morning. According to a new poll by Reuters/Ipsos, Trump’s approval rating now stands at 37 percent, a 2019 low.

The poll, which saw a three point drop from a similar poll takenjust five days earlier, which showed the president with a 40 percent approval rating, was conducted Thursday afternoon to Friday morning, after U.S. Attorney General William Barr went out of his way to put the best face he could on Mueller’s report.

Fifty percent of the adults polled said they believe that President Trump tried to stop the Mueller investigation. And fifty percent said they think Trump or someone from his campaign worked with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

When asked if the Mueller report has changed their minds, 68 percent said they were more likely to believe that President Trump or someone close to him broke the law. That’s up from 49 percent in March.

You know the reason they discourage attending College. Those Liberals in College will brain wash them. Fake News. First you tell them they do not need education and do not listen to the ones that have education and can read and report the news are lying. Good game if you can get enough want to be ignorant supporters.

Mrs, you do know that none of those numbers you mention represent polling after the report was released , right?

ETA with the exception of the Rasmussen number which was the 16th to the 18th ....so it did have Thursday in it the actual day the report came out.

I also think Trump's numbers might go up a little. This thread is about a single poll and it could certainly be an exception - which is why I continue to keep an eye on the RCP averages. I remember a situation like this not too many months ago where there was one low poll result for Trump. The MSM jumped all over it (of course they did) and, less than a week later, the trend of all the polls was actually nicely up instead of down (taking Trump to the top of his range). Of course the MSM didn't jump all over that, but there were a few articles noting the jump and it was almost funny, when just one week earlier, there was a scramble to actively report his downfall, which never was more than the one single poll.

I'll be watching over the next week, but I always keep an eye on it anyway as I enjoy poll watching.

Latino vote expected to be major factor for Trump

A national immigration analyst says President Donald Trump's popularity is continuing to grow among Hispanic Americans – a segment of the American population that's projected to become the largest voting minority in the 2020 presidential election.

"Latinos are paying attention to what President Trump is doing," says Maria Espinoza, national director of The Remembrance Project, adding that they're also welcoming "the results of his America Firstpolicies." The Remembrance Project, a Texas-based not-for-profit, honors and remembers Americans and legal residents who have been killed by illegal aliens.

Trump's approval among Hispanics is certainly seen in the polls, Espinoza continues. "Forty-five to 51 percent of Latinos support this president," she tells OneNewsNow – and she expects those numbers will only increase in the next two years. She is convinced Trump's work is "impacting every average American family" – despite the color of their skin.

Hispanic Americans like what they are seeing in the economy, she notes. And contrary to what the media attempts to convey, Espinoza says Hispanic Americans actually appreciate what the president is doing to keep America's communities safe by securing the border.

"I've been along the entire the border," the analyst shares. "I've been out on the night watch in the middle of the night, and I've seen illegal aliens cross the border through night vision." She knows some cross into the country wearing backpacks and the Border Patrol often finds out the backpacks are loaded with drugs. "Those drugs," she laments, "reach our communities and our schoolyards."

Espinoza argues that left-leaning media outlets – in an attempt to divide the country – are manipulating the border crisis by not telling the public the truth.

"Hispanics [actually] do understand that we have laws [in America]. We're not stupid," she states. "We know it's wrong to cross illegally into another country. And when you speak with legal immigrants and Hispanics who are not illegally in the country, they don't want to be associated with that illegal alien population."

Unfortunately, she says, that's exactly what is happening. "[Illegal aliens] are basically giving us a bad name and [the media is] dumping all Latinos into one bucket."

Hispanic Americans who have entered the country legally are "trying very hard to be heard," she says – and those who have entered legally, she adds, do not "prescribe" to the belief system of those entering the country illegally.

Her father was born in Mexico, Espinoza discloses. "[He] came [to America] the right way," she explains, recalling that he was a farmhand and a lumbermill worker, then went on to own three Mexican restaurants. "That is the American dream."

Socialist tactics

According to the national immigration analyst, every Hispanic American knows what needs to be done to succeed – "[but there are] far too many Left-driven politicians who are driving a socialist agenda," says Espinoza. She points to Venezuela as an example of the struggles within socialist countries. "[You] will see how that system of government has not worked [and] has failed their citizens."

But the failure of socialism is something mainstream media doesn't want to talk about, she attests. "We're all Americans – and what the far-Left socialists are attempting to do is to divide us," she emphasizes. "[They're] are trying to pit one group against the other [while attempting to] pin one group as a victim."

This tactic, Espinoza contends, has been implemented "to activate [the victim] into jumping onto their bandwagon – which is a far-Left agenda, which is anti-America and anti-Constitution.

"They will erase our borders and erase America, because they don't believe in our system of government. They want to shred our Constitution."

All the while, she continues, many people are "fighting tooth and nail" to come into the country.

"We have a front door and we need to use it," she explains. "[But] if we don't stand by our fundamental laws of secured borders and by the laws instituted by our government and by 'We the people', then the Americans are the ones who are going to end up getting hurt."

Contrast in coverage

As the national director of The Remembrance Project, Espinoza is a voice for Americans and legal residents who have been killed by illegal aliens. "All of these lives," she says, "are permanently separated. You don't hear [about these lives] very often in the media.

"[But] in the fake news there are 124 stories for the illegal aliens who place their families and their children in harm's way and who neglect their children. Yet they are [just] temporarily separated," she adds. "[There are] 124 for them versus one story for the American citizen whose loved one was killed and permanently separated from their family through no fault of their own."

And that, she laments, exemplifies the failure of the media and the "huge injustice going on right here in our own country against our own citizens."

I think the poll drop is to be expected, as more of the report comes out. Republican spin on this isn't able to gain much traction yet, and may not until the news starts to settle down. I think it ironic that the same sense of circus rolled out by 45 that has held the media captive for this long can't get their ear at the moment due to witness accounts of the circus behind doors.

I think this drum beat about Obama et al is hurting Trump. It is seen, in my view, as a purposeful deflection from the report leaving it appear as if the Trump supporters can't find any way to use the report itself as a true exoneration of him. Quite the opposite they know it is damning.

The silence from the Republicans is equally as telling, they can't figure out a way to spin the report as a good thing for Trump. My bet is that there are many, many Republicans who are disgusted with his behaviour just too cowardly to admit it out loud. If his popularity drops they will bail like rats from a sinking ship.

Chase, we're just waiting for the rest of the story (the origin of the investigation) part. Not much to say until then with Mueller's report now complete. I think his testimony (Mueller's) might be interesting as both sides feel they have important questions, but other than that, I think Congress might want to think about getting something done (speaking of poll numbers, those of Congress are abysmal). When the rest of the story is released, there may be a lot or very little to discuss at that time.

ETA: But, wow to all this (lot's of drama in the "bail like rats from a sinking ship" - that brought a smile:).

bail / bale. You bail the boat and bale the hay. In the expression “bail out,” meaning to abandon a position or situation, it is nonstandard in America to use “bale,” though that spelling is widely accepted in the UK.May 19, 2016

Honestly the only place he can go is down. I don't think there are many people who are waiting for some kind of alternate conclusion before supporting him. Even outside of the Mueller report, he's done plenty to help people decide how to cast their vote.

I bet the vast, vast majority of Americans have already decided how to vote next year, and nothing will change that.

However, I also think that if there is any move at all it will be away from Trump not towards him. Not just because of his behaviours but because he only caters to his base and does nothing policy wise to broaden his appeal.

His numbers won't go below mid 30s. That's his base and they will never abandon him. Even if he were to shoot someone in Times Square, as he told us.

That 5% difference abandons him when they're reminded how god awful he is. Then they forget that and approve again because maybe they got a few extra pennies in their paycheck. Or they like his stance on keeping brown people out. Then he says/does something awful again, and they don't approve again.

"his policy does tend to be traditional Republican/conservative policy. Then, on the other side, ladies and gentlemen, it's socialism. How to possibly choose between those two options?"

Some dangerous binary thinking going on here--dividing the world up into two opposing camps. In this case, it seems that all there is is Trumpism and socialism.

Everyone catch that? You are either with Trump or you are in the opposing camp--which means you are a socialist! No other choices available!

In logic, that is considered a "false dilemma" --constructing a situation as an "either/or" choice, when in fact at least one or more additional options exist.

There are lots of other things in this world besides Trumpism and socialism. I pity folks who view the world through the unsophisticated and very narrow lens of "plus" vs "minus" or "right" vs "wrong"-- or lump everyone into the "other" category (socialism) if they don't cheer for Trump.

The reason, Kate, is they don't even know what socialism is. They've just been programmed by Fox and right wing websites to be afraid, very afraid, of socialism. Now it's become a knee jerk reaction to anything they disagree with. It's actually quite sad that people fall for that nonsense, but they do.
