Loba stain on pine

I want to stain my builder grade pine stairs and I from what I read the Loba 2K Supra A.T. is the most durable finish there is. Considering pine is a soft wood, and the project is rather small ( 14 stairs) I was thinking of using this finish so I can give my project a little more life time. I tried staining pine with a sealer and gel stain from general finishes and I think it turned out pretty well,

but I was wondering if anyone has experience with Loba stain. I would use the gel stain but it's a oil based product, so I need Loba easy prime also if I use the gel stain.

The description of Loba stain says " Soft grain of the wood does not become darker " so maybe it would be suitable? I know is a long shot, professionals don't usually stain pine floors, but I thought I would ask...
