Comments (27)Last week I purchased a Chamaerops humilis at HD for $12.95--about 4 feet tall with a nice thick trunk. I almost passed it by because I have two already. But there is a lot of genetic variation among Med fans and they really look very different from each other. My 'Vulcan' looks more like a Chinese fan, the ones they were selling at the HD's recently have very finely divided leaves almost to the base of the leaf petiole (some of these were solitaries--others squatter and multisuckering. Another variety I have seems intermediate between the two extremes. Chamaerops, Chamaedorea and Phoenix roebellini are the only palms that flower annually for me, Happy bargain hunting!...See MoreNew Queen Palm
Comments (11)If y'all want Queens, mine drop fruit and germinate all over my landscape. I try to keep em pruned, but with 12 on the property, some reaching 35' tall, I have to wait for the tree guys once per year or so. I'll pot some up and ship em for free except cost of shipping, unless there is a trade. Just a thought...what'ya think? It takes about a month to fill a small pot and flush a leaf or two. Mine in front are 35' tall and I grew them from seed in 1993. The side Queens are nearly as tall and were planted from 7gal in 2001. They are carefree except good feeding to keep them lush. Mine are very lush! Greg btw I've got to take a pic of my mature Triangle at fmy front driveway. Its got 8' of clear trunk and is about 30' tall- beautiful!!!! Now, PLEASE PLEASE I'M BEGGING send some rain. Dry for over a week, once in 4 weeks!...See MoreBest place to buy trees?
Comments (2)Summer Winds there's one on Tatum north of Bell (I think). I've bought from them before and was happy with both the sales and the planting service....See MoreMatt z5b - Greenhouse 10a
