flooring suggestions for dogs
Comments (11)Niroha, I have a non flooring suggestion for you! I have an ancient Bassett mix with a back/disc problem. He has difficulty getting around on non carpeted floors (we have hand scrapped hardwoods that don't add enough traction). The Vet suggested a product called Dr. Buzby's Toe Grips. They are just little rubber rings that slip over the nail and give the dog a better grip. They are amazing! I tried to add the link, but it won't take. You can just google it and see the product and testimonials....See MoreNeed Suggestions For Decorative Container To Store Dog Food On Counter
Comments (15)I wouldn't want glass... i like the metal food and biscuit canisters shown above! I currently keep puppy food in a large metal popcorn container that was given to my husb during the holidays- it is cute with golden retriever puppies on it, so I decided to use it... I pour in food from 30 pound bag- probably holds about 8lbs at a time... this is a temporary thing for me tho since once the puppy food is stopped, the food is kept in large bins in the laundry room......See Morethinking of switching dog food brands, suggestions?
Comments (22)This is just a thought and a shot in the dark really, but I noticed the Gentle Giant food has brewers yeast in it. It's used in kibble as a probiotic and normally is good. However, when I had my dog tested for outdoor allergies the results said she's allergic to all yeast. When our Vet talked to us about it, she said it was "fairly" common, can start at any age and it can make a dog smell. For our dog, the symptoms included her ears but her skin was also very itchy. Her being allergic to yeast was the last thing I would have thought but since changing her food to one that doesn't have brewers yeast in it, the issues have ceased. We spent a small fortune trying to find the right food for her, but the one she ended up responding the best to was Canidae Pure Salmon and it's really made a difference. She sheds less and her coat is soft and beautiful. A lot of people like the Taste of the Wild brand and it's a good food at an affordable price but our dog didn't respond as well on it....See Morevitamins suggestion for senior dog with sensitive stomach
Comments (18)Oops, 500 calories per 100g was a misread or maybe a mistype all right. That makes it worse. The premium kibbles that market to those trying to avoid corn, soy and all that are much worse, one reason I posted this two. The % of minerals is also not static, unless the .9% calcium could be much higher. Not a good thing. The 10% water weight is only important when you must be precise as is when I was calculating phosphorus mg for my kidney dog. Not interested in firing up the calculator at the moment, rough estimates are just fine. jn91871sf, the gist of all this is the diet isn't complete just as you feared. It's great for getting your dog's gut back on track. For right now add the calcium as I suggested or feed one of Dr. Strombeck's diets. Then work on getting her back on kibble or if you want to continue feeding fresh food the easiest way to go is to use BalanceIT....See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
