Comments (19)Each year we enjoy an Easter morning fundraising breakfast at a local fire station in one of our surrounding canyons. And each year after breakfast we walk the canyon and visit all the animals along the way. Turkeys, dogs, birds, goats, horses greet us at every step. This horse is Reno. We've been stopping by to say hello to Reno the last six years and always take his photo. Took five years to find his owner and get his name. We look forward to seeing him every year. Comments (34)It's always a problem to make people cut into it. If I make it for a meal at my own home, I don't put out any other butter, so they have no choice. When I take it to parties elsewhere, I always have to be the one to slaughter it. But sometimes the hosts want to "keep" it (not sure for what or for how long), so it doesn't get used at Easter meal....See More

5 years agoRaven, is that white bench one of those heavy wrought iron ones? I have the one that belonged to my mom in my yard now. I know it was old when she got it, sometime in the 60's.
Gardens around here are only just beginning to wake up. I gave my fountain to my niece a few days ago so as a temporary fix I put potted pansies in that place.

I moved a 1000' higher up. It snowed yesterday. This is my old garden, last year. Dr Huey/red rose & Jackmani clematis.

5 years agoThe only thing in bloom in my yard now are the Daffs and some wild violets. I allow the violets to grow wherever they want as they are host plants of the Fritillary Butterfly.

Edit it to add photo later in the day when the sun was out, they open up.

5 years agoI thought this garden in Lake Tahoe was one of the prettiest I've seen in a long time. Gardening is not one of my talents; try as I might I have the proverbial black thumb. I love to look at a well tended garden full of happy plants bursting with blooms.

In this picture you can see the whole set. The table and chairs are in the back at the rose garden. There's a little brick patio back there. This is our brand new fence! The old one had a section fall in a strong wind storm. It was a very big expense but it looks great.

This waterlily is named Wanvisa. It won the award for best waterlily in 2010.

5 years agoHow windy is it? Far right hand side of the picture is a live wire from the pole which just cracked loudly, followed by loud electrical pops, which set the brush on fire. We might get power in a couple of hours.
