Even used, office partitions are terribly expensive. If you're looking for something reasonably solid, you might do better to use some tall bookcases to form the divider. Used or inexpensive bookcases would be a lot cheaper than used office partitions (and easier to find) and they would probably be easier to stablize. Plus they would provide you with extra shelving for your craft projects. The backsides of cheap bookcases often are made of pasteboard but if you seal it with shellac first, you can paint it so it actuallly looks pretty decent. Or, you can hang a large mirror on the back of the bookcases to help brighten up your "studio" area. If you're looking for something really inexpensive and don't care whether it is a "solid" divider, get a shower curtain rod and hang it from the ceiling then attach an inexpensive shower liner to it. You could also show off one of your quilts on the craft side. The shower curtain on the studio side would help protect the quilt from stray oil paint.

If you're considering a major remodel in the next few years, then I wouldn't want to build in any thing permanent since it'd just be wasted time and money soon enough. I'd look at free standing or ready-to-install items to meet whatever vital needs you have now . . . For instance, I put in $200 worth of Gundtal IKEA shelving in my kitchen 2 years prior to demolition and remodel. That stuff was 1) cheap 2) met my desperate need for increased storage and 3) totally reusable in any other place I want it. I'd seek some similar solution for your need. So, if it's workspace -- a freestanding island/cart. If it's food storage, a free standing cheap cabinet or shelving or adorable hutch. Etc. For the oven space, I'd definitely live with what you have for the time being. Why change ovens? You aren't increasing your size, and you are committing yourself to an oven for the big remodel. Also, you might find you need new wiring for a new microwave type oven, which won't be cheap IME. I'd live with what you've got, and then, if you really need more cooking space, get a nice large toaster oven for overflow baking. That will be very convenient during the actual remodel when you are truly without a kitchen for some time. I've been baking (for a large family) in a large toaster oven since May . . . It is horrible, but we've survived. (New ovens are finally supposed to be installed next week.) Your space certainly looks like you have room and layout options for a total remodel . . . but you're looking for temporary solutions . . . I'd start with looking for a hutch (or worktable/cart with shelving installed on the wall) that would fit in the current informal dining space adjacent to your kitchen. It sounds like what you need is not just an idea for one little corner of the back yard, but a comprehensive plan for it that shows you what will occur in every square foot of it. That way, you will know if something is useful for you somewhere else in the yard or if you just need to dispose of it instead. In order to get going on such a plan you need to think about your overall objectives and specific needs. Decide if you want a gazebo or don't want one. Begin to think about what your needs are. Think about desires that are beyond necessity but keep in mind the budget it order to know if they are realistic.

I think another seating area in front of the wall would look nice, to bring the “room” together. Just a couple of chairs and small round table in between, for instance. Rattan, iron, wood, anything that’s ok in weather. Or a bench, chaise lounge, outdoor loveseat, etc. Please ignore the cushion colors/styles, I have very limited choices on my app. These are just to illustrate what I mean. :) If you want to keep the various pots on the wall, I’d plant the same thing in all of them, for a more cohesive, not-jumbled look ... that’s just my personal preference, no right or wrong! But I’d plant something in them. In the wall anchor pots, I’d plant wispy ornamental grass or something for height, and do various flowers for color in the ones in front.
