Remember back to the days Spike started pay to play?
Comments (29)sometimes, it's good, to relive old memories... I found GJ in about '04 or so. I had a different user name then....desiderata.... and I had the pictures of Little and Lewis' yard. they don't even live there, any longer. they sold the property and got very busy, with a new venture, in another country. I surely do remember that photo of the DH, for the ceremony, for junk...lol I've had neighbors turn me in, for all the junk in my yard...different location then... went to court and lost. now, I'm in my own yard, own the house and don't like to be told what I should or shouldn't have in my yard. I defend it to the max! got a visitor from the county, this week, in fact. he loved my small 'nursery' area...hundreds of plants.. but said there's a lot of junk, otherwise. I said 'point to one thing at a time" he did...and I had an idea for each... he shook his head...sorta laughed and said to have a good day.... no citation, no reprimand and it this time, no problem. till my 'pristine' neighbor gets a hair up his arse, again. I should dance nekkid, with a plucked chicken, in the driveway... bet there would be a 'For Sale' sign on his property, in short order! hmmmmmmmmmm (givin' that some serious thought) ;(*_*);...See MoreSharry Baby spike is too tall? what to do?
Comments (24)Hah, Arthur! My response to running out of room has always been to build more growing space! At the peak of my obsession, last time, I built a 10' x 20' greenhouse with a single-pitch roof with a 12' peak and a 4' x 10' section designed to grow cool growers in SE Texas (which is to say, it was walled off and built to accomodate a 5,000 BTU window-unit air conditioner). Part of that is that I come from engineers, part of it is that I am a typically stubborn Pollack, and part of it is that I have access to lots of building materials cheap/free. Honestly, the only limits to anyone's collection should be financial and of course, how much they are willing take care of, in my humble opinion. But then, I am an admitted hedonist. -Cj P.S. My great aunt still has that GH on her property...one day, when I am settled down and have the land for it, I am going to get that CH back, because there is nothing like having a customized-to-your needs greenhouse. Especially a huge one. LOL!...See MoreCymbidium Spike Versus New Growth

Comments (23)The tree is 4 feet tall in the pot. If I took it out of the pot it would probably be 3 feet. Here are some pictures if you guys are interested as to what I was referencing on my tree. Its only near that center part of the tree, the rest of the tree is dark green and healthy looking. Could it be sunburn? It did go straight from the dark box into full sun but this has just appeared in the last few days. It does not seem to be spreading however. Another cause could be that it was placed in the gritty mix and it received no fertilizer for about a week and the gritty mix really has no nutrients in it. Of course it is possible the shock of the transplant caused this as well. Anyway here are the pictures, let me know if you have an idea as to what it could be or I could just be overreacting :)...See Moreblfenton
