Missing floor after changing kitchen disposition

After a kitchen remodelling we have the problem that part of the floor is missing because we removed a cabinet.
As you can see from the pictures now there is discontinuity between the floor in the hallway and the kitchen... the floor material is laminate/pvc and it is linked together with a click mechanism (they are not tiles).
Is it possible to fix It? Any idea how?

Friends of ours have a second home where from the front, it looks like yours - long porch with entrance to the house and the MBR set back with French doors to the porch on the left side. That part of the porch is hardly ever used, and when they're having guests and someone might use it, they just close the drapes to the MBR. Their porch is continuous all around the house. As for the master bath and closet,a I always thought having the entrance to the closet from the at broom made no sense...until I lived in a condo that had it set up that way and I loved it - it was very convenient to go right tp from the shower to the vanity to the closet and back to the vanity. I would personally eliminate the door from the master bath to the laundry, but I also don't see it as a problem if you think it would be useful. Re the coat closet, you might consider moving the powder room to where the vacuum closet is now, and put the coat closet where the powder room is and the broom closet where the coat closet was....See MoreOptions to change a tiled section of kitchen floor
Comments (9)Please do NOT paint the floor NOR the counter top. The durability (or lack thereof) could land you in hot water if the new owner abuses the surface thus revealing the laminate counter top underneath (thinking they bought granite only to find out they bought painted laminate). In some provinces in Canada, the former owner is on the hook for any defective events that occur inside the first 3-6 months (it depends on local regulations...please check your state's laws). If it is "such and eye sore" then there will probably be other things that also match in terms of "nasty looking". The cabinets look old fashioned - thus fitting the whole vibe of what is already there. Like it or not, they all "fit". Even if they are ugly (to you) they would be considered age-appropriate for the home. Adding gallons of paint (which could get you into trouble if they fail quickly) won't change the fact that the kitchen needs a redo. Comments (1)You shim up the cabinetry at install to accommodate the flooring you select. Flooring need not be under all of the perimeter. This is routine in new builds, where flooring is generally near the end of a build. Flooring is actually one of the first selections, in conjunction with appliances, Cabinetry is derived based on appliance need and locale. Pecking at a kitchen re do is not wise. it takes planning at the start, and no amount of planning is too much planning. Saving resources, until the entire plan can be accomplished is usually your best result. You have nowhere near enough information to provide good answers. Upload pictures of the current condition, along with a neat and scaled drawing that includes every possible inch of everything........clearly noted.
