How would you map out this entry?

I'm planning my entry way and I wanted to get opinions because I'd like to put an entry table (with a lamp, flowers, mirror and something to hold keys) to the left and a bench to the right (for backpacks, bags and shoes, maybe a photo gallery). If I don't use a bench, maybe two chairs and a c-table - the door to the left leads to the garage, the door to the right is a closet.

Some friends have suggested that the bench get placed on the left and the entry table to the right. Also, any thoughts on how to make this a casual coastal? I'd like to use greys & driftwoods and eventually want to paint a tranquil color. Finally, I think a 2X8 runner might be good here, but I want it to pop and I'm not sure how to subtly tie it into coastal. I want to kept it tranquil.

What do you guys think?

I’m assuming you mean left bs right looking at the photo. If you want a mirror above a console the stairways wall will look too crowded. since you have a closet at the bottom of the stairs is a bench absolutely necessary? Having both a cosole and a bench might make the space look more cluttered than anything. For a coastal look here are some suggestions. I will say paining that area is going to be where you will get the most bang for your buck. I would go with a neutral to keep it light and bright . Something in the Greige family. Throw a fun rug down place a console on the left with an Interesting mirrorabove it. If you really need that bench do hooks above it. Keep some framed photos on top of your console and a nice dish and lamp.

Yes, left to right looking at this photo. It's a pretty compact townhouse, so the closet is more utility. The bench wll be more a place to put things down and out of the way.

Nice house. Please don't paint the brick. Anything painted will, inevitably, need to be repainted and begin to look awful as it gets to that point whereas the whole point of brick is its low maintenance. Removing the shutters permanently is a good idea. When you replace the windows, you could have an additional trim board added all around the new windows in lieu of replacing the shutters. Vertical board siding to replace the current siding is also a good idea. If you're going with cedar, keep the natural wood cedar finish look rather than painting it. If you use something like Hardie Board siding and paint it, paint your front door a bolder version of the same color. Before growing season, you might consider cutting back the shrubs by the house, digging up the root ball and transplanting them to along the edge of your lot to make way for a front yard patio beneath the shade of the tree in your front yard.. You might outline sidewalk -- not necessarily with pavers. None of your windows look to be the style that can handle shutters, so that will save you some money. Let him to the stain job, etc., and you focus on improving the lighting and landscaping. The lantern lights flanking doors need to be 1/3 of the door's height. Are there any lights in the porch ceiling to light all around the house? The ratty looking shrubs by the picnic table need to be removed. Not sure I'd add black to this house. If you decide to paint the house later, you might do the typical white siding and black windows of "modern farmhouse" style if it is still a trend and you like it. A decorative, but not functional, vent in the top of the gable might be ok if you can find one large enough not to be dwarfed by the expanse of wall around it.

How would you lay out this shower tile?

Okay, I need to choose a bathroom floor tile that works with the blue and white wall tile, and I was thinking something neutral white/off-white/gray with a slight texture so it doesn't look dirty all the time. Tile store suggested this, which looks a little like concrete. What do you think? I was trying to make it look like the pattern is dispersing as it moves toward the floor. I don't have images of all the tile patterns (I think there a dozen), so I couldn't arrange them very deliberately as far as what is near what, but this is kind of what I was going for.

You have a blank slate to build on! If this was my home, I would start by buying the chest of drawers and mirror first (yes, small chest of drawers instead of table, who couldn't use more storage?). Then see how it looks and how traffic is. If you still think you have room, buy your bench. Then add a funky rug with colour. I would also paint your entry door black. It's a different style than the other doors so absolutey lends itself to another colour. I've painted the inside of my front door black in my last two houses and it looks fabulous!
