Comments (3)When buying upholstered furniture a sofa is always your best value. In fact from a wholesale perspective there can be as little as a $50-$100 difference between them and I will tell you why. At the trade shows, primarily the twice a year High Point market, April and october or the Vegas market manufacturers like to quote low sofa prices as they show you their wares. I have been to many markets, over 60 High Point Markets, where you will be lead around the showroom with the rep quoting sofa wholesale or in some cases retail prices, $699, $799, $899, $999. It's so boring. What they never quote are the love seat and chair prices where the manufacturere is making their mark up. My advice buy two sofas. I think it looks better and you are getting more value....See MoreGreat Family Room Potential - Design + Kid Friendly Sofas?
Comments (18)Pottery Barn has sofas with indoor-outdoor Sunbrella fabric, https://www.potterybarn.com/shop/new/sunbrella-feature I second those who've suggested starting good habits while kids are young -- teach them from the start how to treat furniture and the family belongings properly. And this is the time to start with rules like "no food or drinks in the living/family room"; and yes, it's perfectly fair to have one rule for the adults and another for the kids. Or you can limit what kind of food and drinks to allow kids -- when mine were young, it was water or apple juice only for them in the living room, no milk or grape/orange juice. Also, they grow fast : ) , so you don't really have to decorate around them too much (round ottomans vs. wood rectangular coffee table). I'd decorate for the room and with what you like. Buy quality the first time around. The arched fronts might be fairly easily removable. And I'd almost be tempted to have the builder drywall over the shelving above the arches....See MoreLooking for sofa suggestions for family room
Comments (14)I thought we were dealing with a loveseat before. The sofas should each be 18" or less from the coffee table, but I'm concerned that the traffic path through the space will be a bit circuitous and blocked up, and TV watching won't be good unless people stretch out on the sofas. I think the "L" you had originally might work better and then put the two chairs with those tables flanking the FP or on the window side to get the "U" I suggested above. Use a floor lamp between them if there is an outlet under the window....See Morelooking for a wall color for family room with Carmel color sofas
Comments (3)Hi.I'm Neha. Choosing the perfect wall color depends on the type of flooring you have. If you could share the exact color of the sofa and the type of flooring, I can create a 3D mockup to help you visualize better....See MoreRiesco & Company Interior Design
