Bedroom, turned TV room - does it work?
Comments (34)I think it's a very cozy, inviting room! The only things I would change would be balancing the artwork and scooching the chairs out just a bit further apart (but if you like the chairs close, then leave them as they are). Both sets of pictures look "off" to me. I would probably center the larger print alone over the red table, align the dog picture alone above the table (maybe centered between the plants? or centered above the table? I'd have to play with it), then move the two smaller pictures to the opposite wall from the dog picture (either stacked or directly side by side -- I can't tell how much room you have there). Enjoy your lovely room!!!...See MorePoll: which do you prefer - large bedrooms or large living areas
Comments (19)Definitely larger living area. My house is 1168 sf. The bedrooms are small (the second one is Teeny!), but the living area is nice and roomy. It helps that the layout is very open - I could easily entertain 15 people in this little house. I live alone, so that does help since I only have one bathroom. To make the bedroom more spacious, I put my highboy dresser inside the closet. I still have a regular long/low dresser in the room. I am probably going to get rid of both and put a closet system in. They are really easy to DIY, did it in my last home, and they eliminate the need for dressers. My closet is 6' wide, so I have nice space to work with....See MoreDo you have a TV in your living room?
Comments (35)Not in the living room. In our family room. And much to my chagrin, one in the bedroom. DH just HAD to have it there and needless to say, he turns it on for 10 minutes before he is ready to sleep! lol When my son was young, he tried to weasel a tv for his room and there was NO WAY we were EVER going to put one in his room NO WAY! lol Wow! 58", 65", 68" you guys must have HUGE rooms to have a tv that large! I can't imagine! lol I have some friends that mounted their flat screen above the fireplace and it is VERY uncomfortable to watch. You have to hold your head at quite an angle to see it. ouch!...See Moreliving room to watch TV and looking nice when not watching tv
Comments (17)Can you take a picture from the sliders to the wall across and plant wall towards dining? I think you should nail down the layout first. I agree with above, the first and last are too bulky and don't go in a livingroom. You have a lot of brown already, but the middle could work with a light rug, and lighter side chair/tables. The pros here can really help with layout so you don't cover windows and doors with furniture. From what I see now, the tv can go on wall with the plant with sofa facing... You have a pretty space to work with!...See MoreJanie Gibbs-BRING SOPHIE BACK
