Living room layout with tv and fireplace
Comments (45)Erin, please go talk to a lawyer in person asap. Of course the builder wants you to sign over your land, because then he can hold you hostage, even if he does a poor job and drags things out. If you own the land and there is a major problem, you can fire the builder and tell him to get off your land. If he get annoyed at you, he'll even be able to tell you not to trespass on what is now his property. How will you feel when you aren't allowed to step on your property without the builder's permission? I own a lot and will be building next year. I would never ever ever, sign my lot over to anyone. You said you had never been through this before. Many here have, and experience tells us that you need someone to represent your interests. Comments (2)There are some truly amazing options out there for hidden TVs. If you were open to any of them, that might make your arrangement easier. being able to place things without having an obvious TV in the room when it isn't in use. We have a TV mounted above a fireplace and it ends up straining your neck to look up that high from a couch. Keep the TV low wherever you end up with it....See MoreFurniture Layout - Open Great Room & Dining Room

Comments (11)No problem! Potentially you could fit a low tv stand/credenza in that spot so you can reposition the TV on that instead. (i'm not entirely sure how much space you have there--it looks like a lot in the photo!) Or, You could of course do the same layout and have the TV somewhere on the fireplace wall. That depends I guess on why you don't like it there. Maybe if you have a smaller TV it wouldnt stand out as much? Adding some artwork in varying sizes could help disguise it too. You certainly have the ledge for it!...See MoreShelly K.
