Comments (2)I'm assuming you have the fuzzy felt like carpet in your trunk. A carpet cleaning machine would be your best bet. Mix some kind of odor control liquid with the carpet cleaning liquid. If you don't have that you would at least need a wet/dry vac. Gently sponge the carpet and extract all the liquid. You also need to look in the tire storage area. Take out the tire and you'll probably find wine resting on the bottom. Wipe it all down with a disinfectant mixed with an odor killer product....See MoreFrozen Shoulder
Comments (26)I have had Frozen Shoulders, first in 2004 after I cleaned the soffit around my house by hand. I endured the pain for months before going to the doctor, who sent me for PT. He also offered me Cortisone injection, which I declined as I read that it actually damages the tissue in of itself. Three months of PT and the pain was worse, all the way down the right side of my back and as far over as the spine. It hurt to take deep breaths, and I couldn't even lift a frying pan cause the muscle in my forearm would lock up. Couldn't wash, blow dry my hair. I finally went to another doctor and he told me the only way I could get relief was from having a manipulation, where he would put me to sleep and wrench my shoulder, tearing the adhesions. He said the reason the PT made it worse was that it involved the Trigger points and as I lost range of motion, I depended on different muscles to do the work. He said it can only get better on its own IF if is caught in time and adhesions are not bad. I had the manipulation done and a week of PT to keep me moving it and excerises at home. I got full range of motion back after a month or so. Two years later- the other one froze. This time I went immediately and had the manipulation. Pain free immediately. I'd go and not put it off. If he offers a manipulation, do it. I had a hysterectomy in 1986 at the age of 36 but was on HRT until 2002 - had the first FS in 2004. I agree its probably horomone related partially. I have no diabetes or thyroid problems. About the excerises - check out Aaron Mattes - Active Isolated Stretches - best ones for FS. The PT ones have you hold the stretch way too long and you get the rebound effect of the muscle tightening back up. AIS excerises isolate the individual parts of the muscle and you do fewer of them, hold them shorter time frame and do them slowly. Whenever I overstress in gardening or lifting, cleaning and I feel the muscles tightening, I get those out and do them. Find some Biofreeze to use at night. Rub it on Your shoulder and down your back and arm. Its a gel - kinda like Bengay but much much better. It helped me so that I could sleep. Most PT places have it and some massage places. Wet a hand towel and wring it out. Put it in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes. Take it out and wrap it in another bath towel. Lay it across your shoulder, then move it to any area that hurts. I did this before I would excerise then after the excerises, you ice them down. But just for relief, I'd do the hot towel whenever I hurt. Good luck, FS is much more common than people think. Comments (10)My sister and my father in law both had torn rotator cuffs that had to be repaired surgically. My FIL's was really bad, he let it go for a long time, then got hit by a drunk driver, that really jarred it. The rotator cuff was torn and the muscle was actually starting to pull away from the bone. A big mess. I'm glad you're getting this taken care of, don't let it get any worse. We had a minor accident at an intersection, he braked HARD and even though I was belted, my hands instinctively reached out, They hit the dash so hard I broke both thumbs. That could have been my head! So I've worn my seat belt every ride since then." One night more than 30 years ago I was being given a ride to my car, which was parked on the upper level of a parking garage. It was late, it was dark out, and I didn't feel safe going up there alone, so one of the guys in the building where we worked offered to give me a ride. Because we were going to be within the parking structure and not out on the street, and because the ride would only take a few minutes, I didn't put the seat belt on. Lee normally drove a Porsche, but it was in the shop, so he had his "backup" car -- a 1968 (or was it a 1969?) Cadillac Brougham. HUGE difference in the size and maneuverability of those two cars! Anyway, at one point we had to make a U-turn to go up a long ramp to the next level, and as he was coming out of the turn Lee "gunned it" to go up the ramp. Problem was, he was used to making a nice tight little turn in the Porsche, and when he accelerated, he wasn't aimed straight. I knew we were going to scrape the wall and, like Jannie, I made an instinctive move -- my purse was on my lap so I held onto it with my right hand, and I put my left hand out against the dash to brace myself. Well, we didn't just "scrape" that concrete wall -- we slammed into it. Because of the way Lee had made the turn, we ran into the wall with the impact being on the right front (passenger side) of the car. Now, if you know anything at all about a '68 or '69 Cadillac Brougham, you'll know it is a huge, heavy, solid metal car. And the impact completely crumpled/crushed the right front fender. The right front tire wouldn't turn, and the passenger door wouldn't open. I had to crawl out through the driver's door. Because I hadn't been wearing a seat belt, there was nothing to hold me back when we hit the wall. I was thrown forward and hit my head on the frame of the windshield. Because my left arm was braced against the dash, my arm/shoulder were crunched into my neck. Long story short -- I received permanent injuries as a result. I had to have surgery to remove a rib because I was losing circulation to my left arm. I have vicious headaches, because the impact of my skull against the windshield frame dislocated part of my skull. I also now have bulging discs in my neck and back. Anyway, ever since then, I've worn my seat belt EVERY time I've gotten in a car -- even when all I'm doing is backing the car out of the garage onto the driveway to wash it....See Morehhireno
