Does everyone hate front load washers/dryers or is it just me?
Comments (255)@Chris Powchuk I don't agree with that at all. I had an Electrolux front load. Crappy machine. Bio-stink built up on clothing. You would think after running a 2 hour cycle with warm water, on heavy cycle with extra rinses would result in clean clothing. Nope. The machine was also clean as a whistle inside and out. I kicked that machine to the curb and got an LG. Much better machine. Clean clothes and clean smelling clothes. So I do not believe they are all built the same or operate the same. I used to dry the boot and leave the door open on my Electrolux. Never any mold. I have gotten lazy with my LG and do not dry the boot but do leave the door open and again no mold. I run affresh on the tub clean cycle every now and then and that's about it. And top loads are not exempt from mold. I had a Fisher and Paykel top load at my previous house. That machine built up mold all around the outside of the tub where you couldn't see it but boy could you smell it. We had to take the whole tub out and drag it into our shower to clean it....See Moreexisting owners of elux washer/dryer iq touch and wave touch...
Comments (97)Jmith, Everyone loads varies from type of fabrics to water temperatures. My loads is all over the place where I can wash my king size flat/fitted and 4 king pillow case with a king size fleece cover in one load to two bathroom mats in one load. Weighing fabrics does nothing but causes extra unnecessary step in doing laundry. Once you do several large or extra large load, the machine will let you how much you can fill the machine without over loading. If anybody over load this machine will notice how long it take for the load to balance for the spin cycle! I'm a older WT Lux user.........See MoreSamsung washer and dryer - my horrible experience
Comments (18)I also find it odd that the replacement washer had the same issue. It makes me feel like _I'm_ not using the washer correctly. But, this isn't my first front loader, and with a household of 3 adults, we don't do that much laundry. I know the shipping bolts were not removed until delivery. However, they did place the washer and dryer on their backs outside my home to screw in the pedestals before bringing the units into my house and up the stairs. I don't think they removed the shipping bolts until the washer was in my house on the second floor. The one to two week turnaround time to get a service appointment has been standard during this washer/dryer saga. I'm not sure if the Sears services all appliance brands they sell, or just Kenmore, but in either case they are 'backogged' enough that this much time is needed to get an appointment....See MoreAnother laundry room ? Comments (9)I can understand you wanting to expand your eating area and I don't think it would be odd to walk into the eating area. Alot of homes have a backdoor or garage door that opens up into the kitchen/eating area. What I would be concerned about is losing your laundry room. Are you planning on living here long term - ie forever? If not, then potentially you could affect your resale value and make your home harder to sell. But, if you have a closet area that would work well for a "laundry area", it's doable. Do you have a basement? Could you put the laundry in the basement? Also keep in mind that full size stackables will take up alot of room - they're over 27" deep. Compact stackables don't hold alot of laundry, so if you have a large family you might be sorry with the extra loads you'll have to do....See Moregirl_wonder
