Picking a neutral/calm color for little girl's room
Comments (4)We encountered the same thing when we did our daughter's "big girl" room last summer. She had just turned 3. I can't show you a picture at the moment, as her bed is covered in clothes to be packed today for our beach trip,(yay!), but I would suggest finding a comforter/quilt set that you love and that she can grow with, then picking the paint color from there. I've found it to be MUCH easier to finding bedding before I paint. Then I take the pillow sham to the paint store and find a backdrop color, if you will. My daughter's room is SW Enchant (a lilac/light purple color). Her bedding is a white quilt with pink/purple/yellow butterflies and flowers. I plan to keep her room as is for several years to come. She's happy with it as well (turning 4). We were able to add a princess table & chairs this past year to her room easily, b/c of the colors that were already in there. If her bedding was Dora, it wouldn't have worked so well, naturally! Unless we were going for a compete Disney Collection style of bedroom! LOL! So now, back to my packing, instead of (happily) procrastinating here! Good luck and let us know how what you choose! Below is a JCP quilt set that is an example. Comments (6)That's funny, I used an old TV armoire for craft supplies too! Later on we got a couple of very basic white tables/legs from Ikea for our "craft tables." They worked out great. We put two of them together to make a big square with a chair on each side so there was a lot of table space even when DD had a sewing machine set up on one side. I used FLOR tiles on the wall instead of a bulletin board. It only works with certain types of push pins, though, so you have to experiment a bit, but the colorful (low pile) carpet squares made for a cool graphic element on the wall. Our craft area is neglected now that DD is in high school and has such a crazy schedule. Sad!...See Moremacadamia paint in little girl’s room?
Comments (4)I had Macadamia in my great room and hallways in a previous home. I think it's a terrific color but would never put it in a little girl's room. Not at all a color that would go with pink or purple. What about a pale green?...See MorePaint color for a little girl's room that is not pink
