Mystery dead fish smell??
Comments (5)I know two people who have this problem, one found the cause and the other is still unable to find the source, after 5 years! Yuk! The first one had put out Decon as she knew she had mice. They will leave the house in search of water unless they are able to find water in the house. The mice had built a nest in the air duct run behind the furnace hunidifier and had several litters. They died when the furnace was turned on for the winter, only to become Crispy Critters. When ever the furnace fan kicked in the smell was there. The second house has never been able to find the source but is only there when the furnace is on. They have had the ducts cleaned, the furnace taken apart etc. This has been ongoing for 5 years. I would tell you husband to take another look at the fireplace. When you open the damper to sniff, the air pressure is changed and the smoke and the smell is going to rise. There is a shelf above the damper, to the back and you may have something dead, rotting on it. Just take a counter broom or a shop vac and see what you are able to find. Squirrels can get through the cap at the top so unless your husband has been up on the roof, he might want to check that out also. Good Luck!...See MoreDrexel Furniture Mystery Pieces
Comments (1)I too own this bedroom set including dressing table and full size bed. Pieces listed on eBay sell for around $1800 each but I haven’t found much else about them. I only know I love them and acquired the entire set fo $750 at an estate sale. Would love to know more....See MoreNew Year mystery quilt top completed - finally!
Comments (10)That's really a pretty quilt, and wonderful fabric choices. I finished sewing my blocks together last night, and am thinking of putting a border on it today. I arranged my blocks a little differently and it creates a different pattern. I took the instructions literally as well about fabric choices and mine is wild scrappy. Even a little scrappy for my tastes, but it's growing on me. I loved this pattern, and am likely to make it again, using maybe four fabrics. Glad I joined in on the mystery, it was fun....See MoreOkay, another "mystery chair" for someone to identify...
Comments (6)Thanks! If I remember correctly, there were TWO of these for sale when I walked into the store that fateful Saturday many years ago. I probably couldn't afford two of them then, and what would I do with a second identical chair anyway? However now, it "might" have been nice to have two of them, just because they're so rare - but they really don't work as well in pairs as, say, two Barcelona chairs...;-) BTW, it may not look it in the photos but even with the flat panel design, this swivel recliner is very comfortable in both the upright and reclined positions. Undoubtedly the full-length padded leather cushion does help, but I think the designer got it "just right" in the dimensions - at least for me, that is. ;-D Here's a head-on shot. Hmmm, maybe I should remove the remaining arm and just make it the ultimate in minimalistic swivel recliners?......See Morebleusblue2
