I would NOT paint the brick - it looks great on your house and adds tons of appeal. To "bump up the curb appeal", try removing the shutters, replacing the front steps and railings, painting the downspouts the color of the brick, and adding new landscaping. Depending on your building restrictions, you might also consider a small front porch.

Instead of painting, I would recommend Limewashing the brick instead. Paint can peel and limewash will not peel.

I'm in the no paint camp. Why turn something that is maintenance free to a chore? Besides your brick is quite attractive and classic. No shutters.

Focus on building an interesting landscape.

If it were mine I’d want beefier trim around the door. Or ideally a portico. I’d want to widen the porch and stairs. Removing the shutters will make the windows appear narrower which is good I think, and then visually widening the door would be nice. Wider landing, wider stair, and wider path up to the stair.

Any bright front door looks good.

The brick looks good. No painting it. I would like to see some type of roof cover over the front entry, and the front entry improved. Looks like bushes in front may be yews. They are very ugly, and trimmed straight across and square and do not look good. Landscaping and improving the entry will improve the looks of your very nice looking house. I look at the photoshopping pictures on here, and see no shutters. It actually looks better with the shutters.

The Cape Cod needs a canopy over the entry IMO
