One last rebuttal. I stand behind my statements on dreamin. Dreamin is approx 30 ounce faceweight with a fifteen year texture retention warranty. Tex retention is the only warranty that gives you a fighting chance against a carpet that uglies out. Should you place a triple touch cushion under it (you are actually buying warranty in my opinion)...and you have a tip blossom, water pool, twist loss, or any other fiber related problem, Shaw will cover it. Now nothing is 30 years or really 15 for that matter, but this carpet performs extremely well and doesent carry a monster price tag. Fusion 500 and Dreamin are two of the better valued upper entry level priced products that Shaw sells. We have stocked Dreamin since its conception (probably 3 years ago) and have not had one complaint. I will stack Dreamin up against a 20 buck a yard wholesale cost clear touch any day of the week. R2x stain protection is another nice benefit. Yep great for a rental, resale, or a family room in the basement and a whole helluva lot of other rooms for a budget conscious family. Shaw doesent buck the warranties when dealer applied pressure is present when triple touch is under the carpet. Just a little tidbit of info.

Just got my ~15k stressless emily delivered after a few weeks and i prefer my ugly rooms to go sabella. im a 5’6 man and the emily is just plain uncomfortable. The padding isn’t supportive. The back is completely flat so your spine has little support. Its like sitting against a padded wall. The actual seat itself is just 17 inches but it feels less because the first few inches are pure padding so the back of your knee doesn’t feel supported. Honestly it feels a bit like sitting on a stool because it’s so low to the ground and the seat is so narrow. If your legs are up and your sitting ok your side your knees will be dipping off the front. Just an uncomfortable couch overall. seeing and sitting on it a few times is not enough and I hope the store I bought it come can even give me half of my money back.

xamsx, which part of "you deserve what you got" did you not see? I fail to see where I asked for *any* advice on my Realtor. If and when I want that kind of advice (and I have read lots of past threads on this forum), I'll ask for it. In the meantime, perhaps we could stick with what I *did* ask for help on. Thanks, graywings. If they were just cheap and outdated, I might throw some towels on and call it good, but these are loose (I took two down today that were barely clinging to the wall), dented, and stained. Yuck. I'm really pleased with what I've done thus far. Just a few perk ups are making a huge difference in the feel of the house. There's some "heavy lifting" type clean up work that I'll find someone to do, since I don't have time, but otherwise I am an updating master! :D I'm doing the blinds (amazing difference), towel bars/tp holders, etc., lighting, switch plate covers (just new almond ones, I'd have to change out switches and outlets themselves to change to white), new medicine cabs (cracked, stained ones are so not enticing), front door handle (if it fits the existing door), shower curtains, knobs (dang, those are more work than I thought -- I did all of four today), and taking out the tchotchkes for sure. A few other things, can't remember them all now! Not going to add any WTs (valances, etc.), just taking down some bits of leftover hardware from previous curtains, patching and painting. A good clean up and it will show sooo much better. I don't think it will all be done but I'll take new pictures tomorrow when most of it is done.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses! Haven't quite nailed down which chair it might be. One possibility is the Quinn chair - I like the rounded shape with the very squared-off sofa, and it's pretty comfortable. Or I might go for a more substantial comfy chair, even the York chair that goes with the sofa. I guess knowing exactly which chair would help. Sigh. Les, I agree that the abstract print isn't ideal. It seems that my taste in fabrics is slightly out of date - a few years ago, there were all sorts of great abstract prints in the stores (as well as sage green sofas), and now that seems to be going out. Amy, I think what bothers me about the patterns on the right is the limited palette. The neutrals and reds together are too, uh, spicy. They feel like they need the green to make them calmer and more soothing. OTOH, a green-only palette would feel like it needed red to liven it up. (Plus more colors so it doesn't end up looking like Christmas decorations!) I liked the combinations of colors in the rug because they all balance each other. And yes, it is Mask Earth on the left! Mask Sun felt too bright, though maybe I should take another look at it. I do tend to like more muted colors... though a lot of them. ;-) The Moon fabrics are pretty, but the colors didn't really work with the sofa. Mirror, too - I looked at Mirror Crimson & Mirror Mink, but they weren't right. And, no, I don't have the art yet. It's just a concept. I feel like if I can't find the right painting, I'm just going to buy a big canvas and a bunch of acrylics and paint it myself!
