Sorry, hit post too soon. Yes, starfire glass is considerably more expensive, but for a vanity mirror the cost may not be prohibitive. I know I can't afford it for the shower surround, much as I'd love to have it.

Emmie, Have you tried Sudbury Granite? I was looking at a quote that I have from back in March and the total quote was about $75/sq ft installed for Carrara. The quote I have is for a vanity and tub surround. The price starts at $35/sq ft, but when you add in edging, backsplash polish, tax, delivery and installation it increases to about $74.60/sq ft. All of these are per sq ft charges. Based on this, I think your counter would come in under $500. I figured 6 sq ft for your vanity and backsplash. I could be way off, but it is worth a try. I have actually been trying to get out there the last few weeks to finalize my bathrooms, but with the kids on vacation it is hard to do any house errands. I am still hoping to use Maine Soapstone for my kitchen, but my budget is shrinking and I may end up with Black Cambria Granite with a leather finish. NO! That's NOT how it's supposed to look as soon as it's painted! And you NEVER use caulk in a cabinet door. The center panel always free floats to account for the expansion and contraction of the wood. It doesn't look sanded properly, or joined properly, but with the extreme closeup, it's kinda hard to tell what the overall door looks like. Now, in 2-3 years time, you WILL see the cracks in the finish where the wood joins together. It will look like a line in the paint. That is simply what wood does, and you have to accept that and like that, or you have to want plastic instead. But, even then, you don't get half ragged unsanded looking edges peeking out. You may get the occasional bit of unpainted wood peeking through the edge of the panel in the groove of the stile and rail, but nothing like that. Post some more pics for better overall perspectives.
