I'm lost. Help me pick/design my Master Bath Bathtub
Comments (6)I realize that was your question, but you might not want to ignore your small toilet room. I think you tub looks fine. You can do it built in, or choose a slipper tub that stands alone, or. What do you like? Have you spent any time on Houzz looking at pictures of master baths with an oval tub? Houzz is very easy to search with almost any search term you choose....See Morecan someone help me plan/design pantry?
Comments (5)My first reaction is that built-ins in an enclosed pantry is going to both limit your storage options, and cost a LOT. One of the advantages of a walk-in pantry is that drywall and shelves are cheaper than cabinetry. My second reaction is that you and I have different definitions of "not a huge space"! I think a 7'x3' pantry is pretty big. But putting the storage on the back wall means you only have a foot or so to get in - I'm not terribly overweight, but I would not fit. I would shelves along both side walls. Can you make your return walls a bit longer? You will actually be able to walk in, and you will easily be able to access what's in there - and you can easily build shelves to the ceiling to maximize use of the space. You can put hooks on the back wall for the broom and Swiffer....See MoreWhat kind of software or app will help me with design?
Comments (3)I'm going to slightly disagree with lazy about the GIMP. It's free, but it still looks and functions like software designed by a committee. If you have Pshop experience, yeah, you can learn it fairly easily, but the documentation is absolutely terrible for people with no photo editing experience. She's right that it's very capable, though. But it's free, so you might as well try it. If you have a mac, try the GIMP derivative Seashore. It doesn't do exactly everything GIMP does, but it's easier and also free. I used to write books about Pshop, more specifically Pshop Elements, but these days I mostly use only Affinity Photo. If you have windows I don't know how the windows version is, since I only use it on the mac side. They have superb documentation on their site, alas for me (no book opportunity there). If you really want to grapple with PS or PSE, the free trials are here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html But these days I'd say that PS is easier to use than PSE, unfortunately. PSE is all junked up with useless clutter now and many of the tools don't work as well as they do in full PShop....See MorePlease help me design my small accessible/universal designed bathroom
Comments (4)Contractors do not design. They build. You need an actual K&B designer. You have a very restrictive space to get all that you want without turning it into a wet room. You, and your husband especially, need to educate yourself on modern waterproofing systems and how a wet room is properly created. The Schluter system will offer a lifetime warranty if their products are used from start to finish, including their thinset. Look at their YouTube channel. And don’t be so sure that your choice tractor can actually do this properly. Especially if he hasn’t had the wetroom and waterproofing conversation with you. Read below, and have a tough conversation with him on all points raised. https://www.ceramictilefoundation.org/homeowners-guide-to-hiring-qualified-tile-installer...See MoreJora
