Wax paper left marks on my wood table...HELP !
Comments (11)If it's wax which sounds likely Two options - brown paper and an iron on mild heat- or benzene (or lighter fluid) can be a little tricky depending on how deep into the wood but I'd expect not that far unless you burned the cookies. Likely will wear off too. Then get a better sealer and as noted wire racks make for better cookies....See MoreHelp, I don't want to crash and burn...again.
Comments (23)Thank you for feedback; keep 'em coming. The gray flooring is Trafficmaster allure vinyl planks. It's special order from HD; color/style is Canadian hewn oak @ about $2/sft. Didn't realize but yes it does look beachy. also seems it needs to be ordered from same dye lot so I'll have to order all the flooring to see how a single larger piece of flooring will look. I'm drawn to wood-look vinyl (softer underfoot than tile), although hardwood floors exist throughout the house and am not sure how well the vinyl planks will look next to real thing. The biggest complaint from the tenants is the dark brown flooring. Although it's not really very dark, it prolly sucks all the sunlight from the room, so maybe I'm just trying to stay away from brown. I'm doing a stainless sink this time. The house currently has the white cast iron sink with the attached drainer. I love the cast iron sinks but DH insisted we go with stainless when we re-did our own kitchen. White cast iron stains after a long while. Since I'm trying to modernize or 'contemporize' the interior, stainless sink might go better. It seems the 25" sink is appropriate so I'll put that in the budget....See MoreIs my lime overfertilized or burned by light? - Please Help!!
Comments (13)Also, change up to a larger pot and not terracotta/clay. Evaporation from/thru terracotta cools the soil and citrus roots don't like to grow into cool soil. Note, it is not the light, but the heat that burns the leaves; and you have likely compounded the problem by having air that is notably higher temperature than your roots. If you are going to keep your current light system, move the lights a bit further away and maybe put a heater under the pot to be sure your soil is 60F or higher....See MoreDid I burn my sweet pepper seedlings?!?
Comments (15)Hmmm... well, from what I've heard, and some experience, there's something to say about the amount of biomass for space, but I've never tried growing them that close together. It will force competition, and that has good and bad results. Each plant, and every resulting fruit will most likely be smaller, but you may get more weight per space. It's difficult to do a true controlled experiment in that situation, but I suppose it can be done. The control will need to use the same amount of fertilizer, not per plant, but per space. However, you'll probably want to try a second experiment where you put like 1 1/2 times the amount of ferts on the double-plant. You may get a larger weight of harvest with less input of water and ferts. However, and it's often not as much as an issue with peppers as with some other crops, crowding increases the potential for disease. The traditional type of crowding isn't to let 2 plants grow that close together, but to plant them closer than traditionally recommended. Sq. ft. gardeners often find increased yield with intensive planting (intensive is a word for growing more than the recommended number of plants in a given space.) However, they also must use increased amounts of fertilizer, compost, and water. In any case, let us know how it turns out with photos throughout the season. :)...See MoreRelated Professionals
