Need Ideas for adding curb appeal to boring brick townhome.
Comments (6)Even if you could have shutters would you really want to - I wholeheartedly agree with the above posters, except my order would be: Doorway first - if the existing door is attractive and/or vintage & original to house then just get a better quality storm door that lets us see it. Or think about whole new door. That really is the very most prominent noticeable thing about your house, and your chance to make an architectural statement. I like the awning too, if it was the right style/color to coordinate w/ door and rails so your entryway feels unified/cohesive. Then re-do the garden beds - as a gardener Id be itchin to get in there and not just weed, but totally renovate the bed by digging out everything and getting good quality garden soil. Guess Im assuming that if weeds have taken over that means the soil is probably pretty crappy but that may not be the case. Id put in at least one or two SUBSTANTIAL flowering shrubs, perhaps roses. As a gardener that all sounds like FUN to me - but your mileage may vary. Also concealment of garbage can is a good idea. Whats to the left of your door/stairs, looks like some plants/ shrubberies over there too?....See MoreCurb appeal + front walk ideas wanted!
Comments (16)I agree that the steps to the door need to be much wider. (And all the same width, too. Not graduated widths like they are now.) Plus, I would want the top one to be more of a landing-size, rather than a step-size. If someone comes to the door, where do they stand while waiting for you to answer? Down on the sidewalk? I don't think it looks like you could open the door with someone standing on the top step. You could get brick facers to have mortared on top of the concrete. Facers are the same length and width as normal bricks, but they're only about half an inch or so thick....See MoreLandscape ideas to improve front yard curb appeal
Comments (12)Hmmm I had downloaded a picture without the mulch but it didn’t show apparently. hmmm the garden center actually recommended the sand cherries, they said you can keep cutting them down to a Shrub height. im also not a fan of evergreens which why I didn’t include them, for some reason I don’t like the look of them, but I guess I need to get over that! which ones would you Recommend? And yes! I agree about the numbers, pole and the railing! That’s my project after the garden lol...See Morehelp! landscape ideas for curb appeal and front entry steps
Comments (5)Missing still are large chunks of the view that are important to the yard. You are not capturing the problem with steps in the photos. (They look like some kind of stained, textured concrete.) I would not have necessarily added them like that. But they are there so I wouldn't necessarily remove them. If your drive is too steep to walk on comfortably, the steps are probably actually useful. If they need a handrail is better judged on site, as photos can be very misleading about grade. It looks like the grass could stand being fertilized, watered and mowed regularly....See Moreweedyacres
