Which is better for drilling holes in glass
Comments (13)I use a hole drill bit that cuts a 1/2" circle out of the glass. I submerse the glass block in water that barely covers the top and it takes about two minutes to drill a hole into the side which is just big enough to insert the string of lights. The drill bit was expensive (?$25?)but sooooo worth it if you're going to drill more than a few and sell them. If you'd like the information on the place where I ordered it, just email me (put "drill bit" in the Subject) and I'd be glad to share. I just don't have the info at my fingertips since I'm at work. Comments (66)We got two gifts in total. A vacuum cleaner and a pressure cooker. Both most welcome and the pc is still in use. No ’shower’ and only 8 wedding guests. Just parents, siblings and their spouses. DD got married during covid with the permitted 6 guests but a year later we had a party with 100 guests. They requested no gifts, just donations to two charities. The Italian side of the family found this diffcult to grasp and gave a lot of knickknacks they neither want nor need....See MoreMore Gift Ideas Needed: Gifts for Good Friends
Comments (33)We had the same problem for years. We have a group of seven couples (all close in age). We would take trips together once every year or so but during the year we would take turns hosting a monthly dinner. Of course this always necessitated a hostess gift. All of us are comfortably off and at our age have everything (material) that we want or need. It drove me crazy because I was constantly being gifted with craft type items. I am just not into cutesy things and I had a difficult time coming up with items that I thought the other ladies would enjoy or use. I failingly ended up giving food items or fresh flowers. We all finally came to a consensus that we should stop doing hostess gifts and at Christmas put funds together to donate to a charity. Thank goodness! The pressure every month is off and we can give to those in need. It's a win/win....See MoreWhich level Vitamix would make a good gift?
Comments (7)The array of different Vitamix models is confusing, but many of them are actually identical. The "classic" and "professional" lines have overlap--some of the machines are actually identical aside from how they are named and marketed. Ultimately there are three decisions to make: 1) Do you want presets? (presets automatically ramp up the speed and then turn it off after a set amount of time) 2) Do you want one of the newer "Next Generation" machines? (These machines are slightly quieter, and they come with a shorter and wider container that makes some blending more efficient.) 3) Do you want variable speed control? This is handy for when you want to maintain a coarse chop, instead of completely liquifying. The page linked below has a table with the models as they fit into these categories. Even the "bottom of the line" machines are extremely powerful and capable, so if that's your budget you shouldn't feel bad about getting one of those.
