Begonia nelumbiifolia with shell pink flowers?
Comments (4)Like a dummy I didn't take a pic. I'd say the leaves were about 6 inches across on average. My memory is the leaves were fairly smooth, like a lily pad, and very distinctively round (pretty sure it's not B. hernandioides due to this roundness). The flowers were on a tall stalk fluttering above the leaves. Overall the whole plant was about 2 feet across. It may have been a young plant. He's trying to air layer to increase his plants so I'm going to call in a few weeks to see how that's going. I WANT THAT PLANT. :D...See MoreID please. Begonia with orange flowers

Comments (8)Hi Carol, I'm glad your begonias are doing well - now you will be able to take cuttings and have a good supply. I only stake when the cane starts to really bend over - most of them stay pretty straight on their own. I use whatever is handy - bamboo stakes and tape or rapia or string! When they get too tall for the pots, I cut the cane down to the dirt and make cuttings with it. I've seen pics in Pamela Crawfords books of how they look in the ground with very tall canes that don't appear to be staked- I haven't taken them out of pots yet but that's a summer plan. With regard to fertilizer...I am a very lazy feeder! When I think of it, I water with Bloom Booster maybe every other month or so. I would probably get more blooms if I was more disciplined but I'm happy with the way they look. and with regards to this thread, so far the birds have laid off! I hope this helps, Hester...See MoreMy Begonia 'Carolina de Lucerna' does not flower
Comments (1)This doesn't look quite right for 'Corallina de Lucerna'. More light, some fertilizer should do the trick. I've had mine flower under lights in the basement 12 hours a day in winter but not heavily. There are some canes that are "shy bloomers" too....See Morehc mcdole
