Gap between granite counter top and existing tile back splash.

I want to replace the Corian counter top with granite. Granite is 1 1/4" about the same as the Corian. I noticed that the Corian has a curved edge (radius) about 1/2" that meets the tile. I will have a 1/2" gap between the granite and the existing tile. I would really appreciate any comments on this. I'm selling the house and wanted to spruce up the kitchen a little.

It would be very difficult to keep an existing backsplash with a countertop replacement.

If you're selling the house, I wouldn't spend the money on replacing Corian with granite. You probably won't get the money back.
