Replacing Kitchen Cabinet Doors & Drawers
Comments (2)Thank you for the recommendation. Middletown is about an hour away from here; they may or may not travel that far. However, I did find a company, GoebelWoods, who is able to do it. They did my friend's kitchen cabinets (not just doors) several years ago and she was happy with their service. I called, they came out the next day and called me with a quote later that day! Price seems reasonable and the quality looks good. They use Conestoga Wood for their doors, as do many other companies, including Kraftmaid, that do refacing. Lots more options to choose from than if I chose Kraftmaid through HomeDepot. Doors & drawers will come finished and with my selected hardware and hinges. I will then need someone to instal them and paint the face frames....See MoreReplacing Kitchen Cabinet Doors
Comments (4)we do this work all the time, you could do it yourself but you have to find a quality door manufacturer, We use Conestoga wood specialties, but consumers can not order from them. You can buy doors from home depot, but you can be 99.9% certain they will not be quality. Your best bet may be to contact a door manufacturer that you want to use and see who carries their doors in your area. Let me know more about what you are looking for and maybe I can steer in you the right direction. Go ahead and send me an email if you have some questions. mikemoore@moorescabinets.com...See MoreReplacing kitchen cabinet doors
Comments (10)I just had our cabinet doors replaced on our wood cabinets by a local cabinet maker. He stain matched them to our existing wood. Additionally, we switched the hinges to blum compact hinges which allowed us to get a more full overlay affect and not see as much of the face frame. I also changed a few of the doors to glass. And removed 2 upper cabinets to open up the space a little bit. Just doing this update has completely transformed the kitchen and it looks like I got new cabinets! I am very happy with how it turned out and it looks much more modern (my original cabinets were built custom to the house in 1982). Plus, the cost for doors, hinges, and new drawers and drawer fronts came to about 2,500 from a local cabinet maker. And these are quality wood doors that go with our existing very sturdy wood cabinet frames. This is significantly less than I would have paid for new cabinets which I could not afford. Also, by not changing the stain I saved myself the cost of refinishing. Costs were very important to me and my husband, but it might not be for you. I can take some photos later this evening if you are curious to see the difference it has made! The original floor, counter, and appliances are still in the kitchen. I know changing these out will update the kitchen even further. I know other people might have ripped out the dated cabinets and put new ones in, but both me and my husband did not like the idea destroying the existing cabinets that were in good shape....See MoreKitchen redo on a budget
Comments (4)What's your "budget" budget? A $500 touch up where you DIY paint the walls, change out some light fixtures, and do new knobs and pulls? A 10K redo when you keep the counters and have the cabinets professionally painted, and a professionally new backsplash? A 20K refresh with new professionally painted doors, new counters, new faucet and sink, and a new splash? An appliance or two? All done by professionals?...See MoreBri Bosh
