oil rubbed bronze hardware question...
Comments (2)I have venetian bronze. Mostly looks like oil-rubbed bronze but I've seen some of the orb look black. It all depends on the brands. Mine is more brown with copper streaks. I bought the pulls from target and they match my delta faucet perfectly. But I had trouble with the sink strainer. The first was too black, the second too red and the third was just right....See MoreOil rubbed bronze hardware on dark wood cabinets -- pics & opinions?
Comments (13)I think you are good to go with the darker ORB pulls/hardware. I think it will look beautiful and won't steal the focus of the show. Satin nickel is to light and will pop out too much. (My opinion); and it looks like the other comments are in agreement - including the sample kitchen from Shenandoah: http://shenandoahcabinetry.com/sites/prod.shenandoahcabinetry.com/files/imagecache/Glamour_Image_Main/images/mckinley/glamour_images/k-lw-36msc-horz-14.jpg - I've got the Shenandoah Maple Mocha Glaze (Breckenridge) and decided to go with the ORBs...See MoreDo oil rubbed bronze doorknobs go with brushed nickel cabinet hardware
Comments (8)I am dealing with this right now! We chose brushed nickel because getting matte black everywhere would cost like $7k(this would include all doors, lighting and kitchen/bathroom fixtures); our builder does offer brushed bronze for like $500 for everything. I don't like ORB personally so didn't want to get it just to get it. I do know people are mixing metals A LOT these days. Black matte with champagne brass or ORB with brushed nickel. We plan to change the guest bathrooms to matte black everything; yet the rest of our home will be brushed nickel, as far as the other doors and light fixtures(until we get the mooshie moosh to change them). Unless, everything is all the same throughout your home, mixing metals is going to happen. Exterior does not have to match interior. I would treat these as completely different spaces in regard to fixtures and or color choice(psst, black matte exterior/brush nickel interior for us because this is affordable at this time due to financial restraints). Will post pics in 1/2 months when completed. So, I guess the real question here is, do YOU like the look of mixed metals? :D...See MoreOil Rubbed Bronze vs Black fixtures
Comments (5)I agree that it is more a question of "style" rather than one clashing with gray flooring. FWIW I have oil rubbed bronze and when I was looking I found that the actual finish varied somewhat with some basically looking very dark brown/almost black and some looking more "antique" looking with some coppery highlights peeking through. Phyrich has a variety of finishes and you can take a look at what the faucets look like in various finishes on their site. They differentiate between Antique Bronze, Oil Rubbed Bronze and they have an Matte Black Finish I got my bathroom fixtures from them with an Oil Rubbed Finish. Since I have copper accents and a traditional bathroom I asked them to do a finish that had slightly more copper peeking through. They are a smaller company located in Los Angeles and were easy to deal with. Phyrich Faucets...See MoreRelated Professionals
