This plant does not show any symptoms of HVX. It just needs to blue up, as was mentioned. Young plant, growing in a pot is all. The test strip should work fine to confirm if symptoms are HVX or not HVX. Remember that HVX is only one virus out of several that can infect hostas, and if there are NO symptoms then the virus concentration, if it is infected, may sometimes be too low to give a positive reading. So a negative test could mean three things: 1) there is no HVX present or 2) HVX is present but at too low of a concentration to give a positive reading or 3) if there are clear virus symptoms it is possibly a different virus causing it. This plant looks fine though. :) Chris

Hey there! I am seriously surprised to see that anyone bothered to look at my post and then actually comment on it! A happy surprise, of course, because this forum is great fun and it is definitely a treat to get to know you guys online. Glad you guys enjoyed my writing. My husband is getting a little nervous about my kitchen fetish. But hey, a little competition to spice things up in the marriage never hurt! And it looks like our loans may be going through so a summer fling is possibly coming my way!!! Colleen--Wouldn't it be great if we could have a show/model kitchen and an industrial workhorse kitchen? Oh..where do the fantasies end??? Jterrilynn--I love that look! and it really makes the kitchen more affordable if you go with a dark stain instead of painted cab on the lowers! Buehl--You are always right on top of it. Thanks for the advice, it is because of you that I figured out I don't need a photosite account in order to post pics...just the html code. RJR--I am adopted, so it is always a possibility ;) Okay, unfortunately for all the forum members, I am an internet psychopath. I have my blog (linked below) and love *sharing*....sometimes I am irrelevant with it. Like, for example: where i am usually fantasizing about my kitchen oops! I heard back from the tech support people at Houzz. Their advice for the IE browser problem: reset your browser by clearing history and cache then reopening. I will try that and let you know how it works after I manage to grab my computer son and get him to show me how to do that. : ) Thank you, bayarea_girl, for that info about Windows 10. I guess I might as well go ahead and add it to my computer. They keep sending me messages about it, but I've ignored them--out of sheer laziness. Didn't want to be bothered by having to learn how to use it. But it is evidently time. Out of curiosity, I'm trying the Houzz Photo button and see if it works for me. Hey, it works. OK--now I have two new ways to post pics. This is good! Thanks for that help, Sutekesh. (That is a pic of the mini-rose Sweet Diana, for the curious. ) Kate

That’s a good idea, Vap! I’d have to be quick to come back in and edit the text in with my phone after posting the pictures with the tablet, though. I know you only have an hour to edit anything in your original post, and after that what’s done is done. You’re “locked out” from editing your opening post after an hour. I’m a real slow poke and I’m easily distracted, so I’ll have to make sure I get it done in an hour. I just now saw that my title has a typo, and I can’t go back and fix it. It is an option though, and a good one. I’m far faster at “texting” my words in, than typing on the screen of that Fire tablet. My laptop’s keyboard doesn’t work anymore, so that’s just as awkward. I can only use the touchscreen to type on it. I DO have to Houzz app installed on my iPhone, but I no longer use it at all. I can’t do anything through the app. I stay signed in and my phone shows a “frequently used” list as soon as I open my browser. I just hit “Antique Rose Forum”, and I’m in. It’s unfortunate that I need a “work around “ at all, but it’s better than nothing. I had forgotten about that Fire tablet, and began to wonder how it would work here, just yesterday. I really was shocked when I could post photos with my original post from it. It’s a cheap $30 tablet compared to my rather expensive phone. I’ll have to try a post doing it the way you suggested, Vap. There’s just not a whole lot worth taking pictures of, atm. Lisa
