This plant does not show any symptoms of HVX. It just needs to blue up, as was mentioned. Young plant, growing in a pot is all. The test strip should work fine to confirm if symptoms are HVX or not HVX. Remember that HVX is only one virus out of several that can infect hostas, and if there are NO symptoms then the virus concentration, if it is infected, may sometimes be too low to give a positive reading. So a negative test could mean three things: 1) there is no HVX present or 2) HVX is present but at too low of a concentration to give a positive reading or 3) if there are clear virus symptoms it is possibly a different virus causing it. This plant looks fine though. :) Chris

I heard back from the tech support people at Houzz. Their advice for the IE browser problem: reset your browser by clearing history and cache then reopening. I will try that and let you know how it works after I manage to grab my computer son and get him to show me how to do that. : ) Thank you, bayarea_girl, for that info about Windows 10. I guess I might as well go ahead and add it to my computer. They keep sending me messages about it, but I've ignored them--out of sheer laziness. Didn't want to be bothered by having to learn how to use it. But it is evidently time. Out of curiosity, I'm trying the Houzz Photo button and see if it works for me. Hey, it works. Not disputing Pink's advise but the clogged filter is not good but most fires I have read about or seen (neighbor had one) is from the vent being clogged with lint. Dryer sheets do make the vent sticky and the lint builds up worse in the pipe. Need to blow it out about once a year OR every six months depending. If yours is short, there will not be as much build up in it as with a longer run. Mine just goes from the back of the dryer straight out the wall behind it so I don't really worry about using sheets but I use liquid 90% of the time. About my neighbor, the girls Mom had been there and cleaned house and did the clothes. She left to go home and left the last load of clothes drying. It overheated due to the vent(mashed) they said, but were very lucky. The house didnt catch fire, just very badly smoked. The guy that lived there came home before it blazed up. The smoke was so bad he couldn't see when he opened the door but he crawled and got to the switch box and could tell the main breaker--anyway killed the power cause dryer was still running, then got to a fire extinguisher cause he looked for a blaze any minute. The clothes were burned. I really dont know why it didnt blaze, just timing I guess. It was a Speed Queen dryer too. It was so bad they couldn't stay there and Serve-Pro came in and cleaned everything. Some stuff the Ins replaced best I remember.
