Custom Built In Bookcase Dilemma

I purchase two upper wall cabinets to use as the base of a built in project. I will be installing a wooden countertop and bookshelves to ceiling. My plan was to build a 4" platform to raise these up to the standard 34" and run the existing baseboard and trim around the toe kick to give it the true built in look. However, the baseboard trim is about 6.5" high so in order to do that I would need to build the platform a minimum of 6.5" making the total height over 37". Is that going to look strange? the cabinet is a full overlay so I really don't have any wiggle room. Should I just build the standard 4" platform and continue the baseboard on side and end there? Any other ideas?
