Paint color advice - complement dark floors and cabinets
Hi,
I am planning to re-paint my house, but deciding a color has been very difficult. There are way too many options out there.
What I know:
- I want a lighter, more neutral color, which gives a bright and light look
- I like the modern grayish tones out there, so that is a color tone I am leaning towards. (Maybe a white with some gray undertone)
Doubts:
- What I don't know is what tones of colors would go well with my dark floor and dark cabinets.
- Some shades look appealing on the color chip, but not sure if they would look too light or too dark on the walls.
Here are some pictures of my house. The furniture is staging furniture, so that will change. However, I am not changing my floors and cabinets and granite countertop:

Comments (8)So pretty. Whites will work, greens will work, gray-greens will work...stronger blues would work if you were so inclined. (I know, kills appetite a bit) If you still have the preference for a bit muted colors(like in your valance), here's the nice round up of subtle yet rich greens for you. Maybe you'll see something you like. I didn't use any of them, I did use couple of greens I loved but they are Dunn Edwards..I don't know whether there is Dunn Edwards where you are. Comments (2)What did you choose? I am also trying to match red oak trim in my familyroom to my kitchen floors. I didn't want to introduce another color or tone of wood. I'm leaning on Manila Oak, waddington and maybe Cairo but I don't think Cairo has enough golden or reddish hues....See More

5 years agoI actually really like the color on the walls now, but I understand the desire to change from beige. You might be good with a greige. Consider Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter but maybe lightened by 50%...it’s an easy versatile greige. (Not my house, an example)
