Jeanne, I am going to be rich, lol. I don't know how long these have been in bloom so don't know as I could be selling them this year. You can bet next year I will find out in advance if the florists want them. As for them to being hard to grow, I had to snicker a little on that one. Mine are growing heartily under the stairs on the deck. I don't know why hubby thought he could build stairs right over the plants but that is what he did. We also have some growing wild in the woods. The ones under the stairs look nicer than ever and the ones in the woods look healthy too. So I guess if you want nice lilies of the valley, you must neglect them. It hailed last night (hubby said it was butter bean size) so they are probably pretty happy to be under the stairs today. I haven't gone out to look and see if there was any damage. It is raining now. I hope it stops soon. The top couple of inches were dry but was very moist down a couple of inches so we didn't need much rain. Thanks for letting me know that lilies of the valley are desirable. Shirley

I have a 9" pullout, also, although it is an in-cabinet pullout, and you do loose a lot of room. It does make the space left much more accessible, though. The inside usable space dimensions would be very helpful. I have looked everywhere and not been able to find them. If anyone has the measurement, PLEASE post it. I am sure it would help a lot of people considering these pullouts. I would want the upper spice pullout only for the small jars and rectangular tins, of which they make very few any more. So most would be the small round jars. I can keep my larger spices in the upper cabinet next to the pullout. The smaller ones tend to get lost though, and hard to find without emptying out the spice cabinet. I designed away my corner lazy susan that I used in my old kitchen that kept them relatively accessible, in favor of a glass front lighted cabinet. I measured my spices and the tins are 1 1/4 inches wide, the McCormick small glass jars are 1 1/2 inches and the McCormick small plastic jars are 1 3/4 inches wide. Small extracts are about 1 inch wide to 1 1/4 inch wide. So 1 3/4 inches are plenty to make it functional for me, since not all my spices would fit in the upper one anyway. I love the idea of the peg board, but with no solution for my spices I am not sure if that would be most useful if I can only have one. On the other hand, I know I would rather not be bending down or kneeling on the floor to find the most frequently used ones. The peg board might let me get rid of the on the counter utensil holder, which would leave a nicer, cleaner and less clutter look. If I went with a lower spice pullout, it would probably just house the less frequently used items. Then I would keep just my favorites in the upper cabinet. Anyway, I need to decide soon. If anyone has the inside dimensions or can show how they were installed in an upper filler with wide moldings over it, it would be immensely helpful. Ordering them and returning them is not an option since there are steep restocking fees as well as shipping to pay. I would only get about 50% back if I had to return one. Sue

I put the Systema faucet in my apartment kitchen. It's has a beefier look than the Sin, which is sleek. But it has the stream/spray pull down with locking. It comes in 2 sizes -- one is about 20" tall (which I had) and the other is shorter. Loved that faucet. The quality was excellent. It had a wide head but not too wide and the spray was great. This faucet has a high flow rate however, and as a result it did splash a bit even with a 10-inch deep sink when it was docked and the water hit something. But I was able to work with the faucet head down in the sink for many tasks, which eliminated the splashing. Also, I believe the water flow is adjustable with a screw on the back or side of the faucet stem so that can be controlled somewhat. KWC is a high end brand. I'd shop for discounts as they can be around. I got a very good deal on mine. But the quality is excellent and it's a well reviewed and recommended brand here. Thanks, Lisa--it took long enough! The designing, that is. Like a year or more. I like the second picture a lot. The cabinet hardware is casual and the same color as the boards, so it all does look finished and intentional. The first picture is more formal of the cabinets, but the books and oatmeal make it more casual. The boards would look fine as they are, all a-tilt, if the cabinet were finished. As it is, it looks like the door is missing. If that opening were trimmed out flush with the doors/drawer fronts, it would look vastly better. The second one doesn't have that issue because the cabinets are inset. I think it will function for you just fine. But...don't you have a 4.5" gap? Or is that without considering the box? I thought you meant a 4.5" space within the box like SJHF, which is why I was encouraging you to do a pullout. If it's 4.5" including the box, and therefore a 3" gap, you're right that the open space makes the most sense, with or without a door. (I had one with door in a previous kitchen and it was right handy. )
