It would depend on the other finishes in the room like paint, tile, etc. You can't go wrong with a brushed nickel though. if you do mix metals, it's best to go with two that look different. Two metals that look similar but are slightly off will read more like a mistake than an intentional design choice.

Not sure that is the sconce I'd select for a bath. It's not the metals, it's the overall look. I don't think the light would be enough for a bath.

Hmm. Well, I am usually somewhat in favor of not worrying about mixing metals. But I am not sure in this case what you suggest is advisable, nor that it will fix your "contrast" concerns. I would consider something other than gray on the walls to avoid a completely gray and white color scheme, and would leave the fixtures as you have them.
