Looks like a Photinia.

Foliage is like that of Eriobotrya deflexa x Raphiolepis indica Majestic Beauty = 'Montic'. A 1973 Monrovia nursery introduction that is still on the general market here on the Pacific coast.

I'll attempt to post the other two pics that didn't come through the first time. Do these help confirm your thoughts? Also, what would be the pros and cons of Photinia and/or Montic? Thanks!

Both can get a very disfiguring leaf spot - Entomosporium - so six of one, half dozen of the other :-)

When the flowers open it will be easy to tell for sure. Otherwise it looks quite like 'Montic' to me. Also this plant is one likely to be encountered at garden centers near the Pacific. I've seen some quite nice ones in shopping center landscaping in Orange County, a situation where I doubt anyone was spraying them.

Poor thing looks like it's being strangled. Those straps look extremely tight, better loosen them asap.

I believe it to be one of the Rapheolepis.

Just a quick update to say that, yes, indeed it is a Majestic Beauty® Indian Hawthorn ("Montic"). This was confirmed today by the landscaper who put it in. Thanks, everyone!!
