Door Color MidCentury Modern house
Comments (2)Thanks, for the great ideas! I have a hard time visualizing what it will look like and it is really helpful to hear others thoughts. Maybe I will try the home decorating forum, if I can figure that out!...See MoreShould I paint my Mid Century Modern brick home?
Comments (17)Your realtor is giving bad advice, leave the brick alone, you will disappoint the diehard MCM buyers. Your eye goes to light colours first, so leave all the trim especially at the roofline light, no black. If it was my home, I would consider painting the walls a warm taupe/grey, it has to work with the roof color, the brick and the mortar. Choose your colors carefully, you should hire a color expert to be on site. Or don’t paint at all, leave it to the buyer. Maybe the wood at the entry can be restored. Please don’t change anything that is authentic. This example photo shows how the wall and carport support was painted a color to work well with the brick....See MorePaint suggestions wanted for a mid century modern style home
Comments (0)I have a 1964 mid century modern house I want to put on the market soon. It needs new paint colors to liven it up. Can anyone give me suggestions? Or a link to an app I can use that will allow me to try different colors just by uploading a photo? (no I don't have photoshop) Thank you!...See Moremid century modern home restoration
Comments (10)I would go to a good quality paint store and explain the situation. I doubt that you would need something as high powered as a power washer indoors, but it will obviously need cleaning. Folks in the paint store should be able to help you evaluate the best solvents to remove indoor grime, whether it is vinegar or dish soap or whatever. They may also be able to suggest what other prep may help (sometimes a light sanding is suggested for painting metal, for instance) and whether the same paints used outdoors are appropriate for indoor use. I kind of like the current color since it looks a bit like it wants to be wood paneling which would be a more expected finish. I think you will want some type of scaffolding to reach the whole wall....See MoreAlison
