So what made you guys decide to go with the Ivory Brushed Oak instead of the Texas White Ash?

I absolutely love the Texas White Ash in pic #1, but I’ve seen a few pics now like pic #2 that have made me question it. We really want a white washed oak look, like in pics #3 & #4.

I’m worried that Texas White Ash has too much contrast and too much of a gray undertone, even though it doesn’t look like that in pic #1, so I’m wondering if it’s that the pictures often make the product look darker than it is (with all of the finishes) and/or installation choices.

We decided to go with the brushed oak because of less variation between plants, and a warmer undertone, as opposed to a cooler.

@Lisa Foreman, for typical cleaning I use the Swiffer WetJet. For stubborn stains, I use Armstrong Flooring's Once 'n Done https://www.armstrongflooring.com/commercial/en-au/products/floor-care-products/once-n-done.html

Hi - I am thinking of installing Karndean's Korlok Texas White Ash as part of my basement renovation and am interested in: 1) quality of the locking mechanism, and 2) how well the vinyl planks have held-up. Any experiences?

Because the concrete slab is uninsulated and ceiling height is a consideration, I plan to lay the Texas White Ash planks over top 5/8" plywood that has been secured to the slab with Tapcon fasteners and over top Delta FL membrane.

I absolutely LOVE my Texas White Ash. We installed it directly on top of concrete. The locking mechanism is far superior to any other - my husband and contractor installed it together. It's been down for about a year and looks amazing. We live on a farm, with lots of dogs on it every day. We also come in with our boots on every day and it holds up wonderfully. Can't say enough great things about this floor.

I'm thinking of installing Texas White Ash in my home. Pamela, do you have any pictures? Lisa, did you go with Texas White Ash or the Ivory Brushed Oak? Can these LVP go on stairs too?

In the middle of our renovation but here’s our Texas White Ash floors. We live on a farm and they easily clean up from dirt and dogs

Hello , is it me or the pics for the Texas Qhite Ash look more of a warm beige which is why I felt in love but when I saw the sample in person is white and gray? not sure when you receive the box there are more color variations

I went with Texas a White Ash. I don’t have a solution for what to do on my stairs yet! It has gray undertones. In person, it doesn’t look authentic to me, but with kids, I wouldn’t do anything other than LVP! I’ll post whatever pics I currently have on my phone!

My heart was set on Texas white ash but just found out they don’t make their own t molding or stair nosing. I’m now contemplating on moving forward with their floors. I’m worried the company they use who make these pieces won’t match the color well.

@lisa how many color variations on the planks I know there are ten planks in each box

@contrarylee did you purchase the tmoldings and stair nosing from versatrim? is it an accurate color match? I just found out today that karndean does not make t moldings and stair nosing for their floors and I’m concerned that third party vendors color wont match.

@Jessica S. yes, I got them from versatrim. The colors match quite well, but unlike the stair noses from Armstrong flooring these don't click into place and must be glued. Depending on how well/not well its done, dust can gather in there and there can be slight creaking sounds when stepping on them.

The most egregious part is the lack of any air vent covers if you have forced-air heating. Good luck with that!

The flooring itself, I'm very happy with!

We just installed it on our main floor in April a loved it so much we are now installing it upstairs. My only problem is we redid our stairs and I need to figure out a stain to paint our treads we are painting the risers Super White by BM

@contrarylee Thank you so much for sharing the pictures of Ivory Brushed Oak and Texas White Ash! I am also torn between the 2. I might end up with Ivory Brushed Oak - from the pictures you shared, it looks cleaner (in terms of wood grains and consistency of cleaner look) and also somewhat warmer.

good luck, @canadawinter. We're still happy with our choice of Ivory Brushed Oak - it certainly is more "minimalist" because of the cleaner look. Let me know what options you went with for the stairs and vent covers

@contrarylee - Thanks for your response! I will have it installed in my condo apartment a and exciting to see the results! My mind debated if i will also use it to continuously in the main bathroom flooring (the usual condo look here).

@contrarylee how are your floors doing with showing dust or footprints? Karndean looks to have a touch of sheen that others don’t and I am thinking that helps with this problem that so many people with lvp seem to have With the really flat finishes.

@Cynthia Cunningham the Ivory Brushed Oak panels doesn't show footprints much at all. Nowhere close to the hardwood flooring with a coat of urethane that I had before it.

It does show dirt spots quite well which go away with some light cleaning, but that all feeds quite well into my OCD :-)

@canadawinter, please post photos after you've installed your new flooring. Installed photos are so very helpful.

I have read reviews of karndean floors fading with exposure to sunlight. Have you noticed this happening?

We went with the Texas White Ash Korlok. Do NOT buy Karndean flooring. Contrary to their claims, the floor is POOR quality, hard to clean and not as robust. I've had planks de-laminating and gaping. I paid top dollar for this floor and would not recommend their products to anyone. Stay away! Dealing with their warranty department is a nightmare as well. Its taking forever! I'm over half a year into the claim and all they want to do is point the finger at me for installing it wrong, even thou I followed their installation instructions. They do not stand behind their product nor do they look after the end customer. I can't stress it enough - STAY AWAY!

Lightest is Ivory Brushed Oak then Texas White Ash

The ivory brushed oak is also shown again beside washed butternut which has a few rustic wood knots

Left brown boards are Warm Brushed Oak (slight yellow neutral) lower Left is Warm Ash light knots definitely warm with blush tones. Warm Ash mimics real wood boards unique variation among the boards.

@contrarylee @Lisa Foreman how are your Karndean Korlock Select floors holding up so far ? Did you use the same floor in your bathroom or half baths or Laundry ? Thank You

@John Creek pretty good so far, but did not install them in the bathroom. I do have them in the laundry room, but it doesn't see a lot of water/moisture.

No issues with separation of the layers or any obvious color change with sun exposure.

They’re holding up perfectly other than a scratch that is dark brown or black...not sure how it happened. If I could redo it I would have gone with warm ash and not Texas white ash. The white ash is too light and shows every crumb!

@Lisa Foreman @contrarylee thank you for the update : ) I am considering warm ash and brushed oak KarnDean as well ....Brushed Ivory Oak is even more white color if you think Texas white Ash is white LOL ( we will be going with local Pro install since manufacturer warranty states to use Pro official suppliers & Pro installers to avoid hassles).

When I bought it we got the best price from efloors.com That was almost 1 1/2 years ago now but at the time it was the best price and fast delivery. And I still absolutely LOVE our floors!

The little samples that Karndean sends give little justice to how the entire floor would look. Can anyone comment on if Warm Brushed Oak has wire brushing? Is the variation between planks more subtle in person?

There are installed photos of warm brushed oak KarnDean on Instagram & Facebook just hashtag search . Brushed means brushed blended visually not texturally hope this makes sense. Texture is same across all the Korlock KarnDean. The planks are non repeating like all KarnDean LVP. The warm brushed oak planks are more uniform (not much wood knot look) when compared to ‘warm ash’ or Texas white ash which are both more patchy when installed , color like real wood variable plank to plank which can be seen on installs on IG & FB. Canadian Urban Oak has the wood knot look and grain appearance as well as non repeating planks while not being patchy. Again several installed images are on IG & FB. Hth good luck

Hey all, for those that love the Texas White Ash look and feel but are looking to keep cost in the $3-$4.50 range, does anyone have any product suggestions?

I’m so confused about Texas White Ash. Does it lean more beige or is it more gray? Would you consider it warm or cool?

I have Texas White Ash and it is my favorite thing I have done to my house. I have had it just over a year now and it’s great!
