Comments (4)It should work...the Monster will give you the best picture. By the way Monster cables will give you the best picture quality. You can find the cables at Best Buy and you can find just about Monster anything at Amazon. It gives you a choice between the standard RCA composite connection or the S video connection. Their game link cables are pretty expensive but provide an excellent picture. Instead of connecting the yellow plug and jack you connect that multi-pinned spidery looking cable and jack. Comments (13)You got an excellent bargain on the oven. Do call Gaggenau and see if they'll honor the warranty. Congrats! Mine was FedEx'd from England. I think it was $70 U.S. duty, plus $5 for FedEx to handle the paperwork. Since you'll be carrying yours as luggage, you should be paying (if it hasn't changed) according to the following equation, with the price in U.S. dollars of your cooktop being X: duty=.03(X-800) That should be a lot less than import duty. That is, assuming that there isn't special duty on hand carried electronics or some such. If there's VAT in Germany, ask the store if you can have it waived since you're taking it out of the country. I don't know if you've seen the caveats. For your self-imported cooktop, you should get a letter from your insurance company saying that they know it's European rather than UL approved and that that doesn't affect your policy (mine said so long as it was installed by a licensed electrician). Also, you should make sure your building codes don't specify UL. If they do, you'll need a waiver. The Euro certification is just as good as UL, but you want to make sure that you have all the bases covered so they can't use a technicality to weasel out of the help you'd be given if there's a fire or something (like from a lightning strike). I'm also in California but local codes and inspectors vary. Do check with the airlines about the measurements they allow as well. It should be fine. My cooktop would fit, with its original box, into my old large pullman suitcase. I'm not sure about the newer ones, but it's the three dimensions added together they go by, with a maximum diagonal, so I think that part will be fine. Actually, if you have an old large pullman case, you might consider taking it, with some old towels or rags, and bring home the cooktop in the case, with the cloth for padding, instead of having to get an outer box and peanuts. Worse comes to worst, you can always send it FedEx. :)...See MoreBlue Star Ignitor issue Redux
Comments (44)We were down to two burners on our 2006 30' BS range after continuous clicking occurred even after ignition when we used the other two. Checked the manual, called BS, got right through and spoke to Matt. We pretty quickly established that it was a bum igniter module and that I could replace it myself if I was at all handy (Im OK handy). Ordered the part (4 burner igniter module) for $85 plus $10 shipping and it came in 3 days. I unplugged power to the range and got started. Wasn't quite sure how to take the front/control panel off and I hadn't gotten specifics from Matt, but it is pretty easy once you remove the knobs and remove three screws above the knobs and two below. The angles are a little tough to get to the upper screws but be patient. Take the drip tray out to give yourself room to get the lower screws. Once the screws are out, gingerly pull the panel forward and it should come off and hang by the wires connected to the switches on either end of the panel. You'll see the igniter module in the center back behind a neatly bundled cluster of wires. I had read a post above from annalbin about modifying a 6-burner module for a 4-burner range and this operation was apparently much simpler since I had the 4-burner module (though BS kindly included instructions for the 6-burner operation). The wires all connect by plugs, so I one-by-one unplugged from the old and re-plugged into the new so as to get the sequencing right. My wires were actually numbered. No cutting or stripping of wires was involved. Once they were all plugged back in to the new module, I unmounted the old module and screwed in the new (with 3 screws easily accessible from under the front 2 burners). Carefully pushed everything back into the space behind the control panel and replaced the panel and screwed it back in. My wife helped hold the panel in place so we could line up the center screw. Plugged the range in and she fired right up on all burners with now continuous clicking. Probably took an hour. Hopefully this igniter module will last for the life of the range; IÂll be disappointed if it doesnÂt. I thought the response from BlueStar (Prizer-Painter) was actually pretty good. I hate to read negative experiences detailed here and I hope this will help anybody who has a similar problem. Good luck!...See Moreneed help connecting tv to all the extra devices
Comments (0)Hello, I am hoping someone can help me connect our tv to our cable dvr, a dvd player, and a vcr via an rf modulator and a switchbox. I have spent three days trying to figure it all out. The tv is an RCA model F25216WT it only has a coaxil connector in the back that is why I have the rf modulator. The cable dvr is from Time/Warner cable and is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300. The DVD player is a CyberHome CH-DVD 300. The VCR is a Mitsubishi HS-U500. The RF modulator is a TERK. The switchbox does not have any labeling on it to identify it. It has three input a/v connections in the back for three different devices. It also has an output a/v connection, two coaxil connections-one for in antenna and one out to tv. There is also an in a/v connections on the front. After being without the tv and cable for three days my husband is getting antzy. We babysit our grandchildren and they are getting bored playing games with poppa. I have managed to get the tv/cable to work but that is it. The cable company won't come out because it isn't their responsibility to hook everything else up. Can anyone help with this please?...See MoreMike C
