Which stools look best in my kitchen?
Comments (17)bixa, if you'rr referring the the stools I linked, yes, these are EXTRA deep seats, k9arlene, hmmm. I've got a 35" inseam and when I'm sitting on my counter-height stool my toes are barely grazing the floor, even if I scooch towards the front edge of the seat. I do have a footrest on both the table and the stools, and that does help....See MoreWhich color looks best?
Comments (34)I do like those color options. So, I will likely end up picking something from those choices. I will pick up some samples this week. I plan to take down the mirrors and paint all the walls the same colors and the put up frameless artwork. Either one large rectangular piece or 4 small squares. I think i will also paint the ceiling the same color as the walls except add 80% white. White baseboards, doors and door frames. if the painter is removing all the door handles to repaint the doors, I may replace all the polished brass handles with something else. What door handle finish can I get that won’t look dated in 10 years?...See MoreWhich color looks best?
Comments (60)The 3rd from the Bottom is THE ONE ! I have been a historic color specialist for 35+ years . So, IMHO, the third one down brings out some of the tones in the wood grain in a very handsome way. The Upper two are fierce competitors, trying to take over the wood accent wall(?) . The one on the bottom seems too blue(?) Hard to see it exactly. But when you have a chance to find a unifying shade between other elements in the room -it is a winner !! Two sidebar comments : 1)it is not acceptable to say that if you use a lighter color stating “ it will darken as you paint the entire space” unless you get the color family correct in the first place!! Full value colors will appear darker when there is more of it, but it will not darken AND THEREFORE MATCH, unless you be sure it works in a sample size or painted wall sample. I urge you to paint a 4’ swatch once you think you have the final paint choice . Check it out day & night before you say” GO!” 2)While folks really believe full saturation/ dark shades of paints in a dim lit or north or western facing window will be depressingly dark. Counterintuitive thinking is warranted here: FULL VALUE OR FULLY SATURATED PAINTS bring full color to the walls which do not read gray or dim lit from lack of natural light. Painting a windowless room white will only serve to cause gray shadowing from any objects put into this space & it often looks like it is an old paint job! TRY DEEP TONE PAINTS ON INSIDE BATHROOMS ~ BRINGS REAL JOY to the toothbrushers!! GOOD LUCK & PLS POST the FINISHED SPACE! Comments (13)Wendy, Your kitchen would look great with a runner or more of that full room look. For the full room you may have to put 2 together to make the full length of you kitchen. Wasn't sure the other colors and style you are looking for but some examples below. the blue full room one not shown in the room is an example of one you can do that doesn't have a border so 2 together can look seem less as one rug. You can sew or use carpet tape to keep them together. lots of other patterns colors and styles you van do this with just as long as it looks seem less from one to the other. You will probably have to trimmed off the adjoining ends to put them together. If rugs.com has the right sizing to the picture, a 4'11x 6 would be about perfect to double but you should measure to confirm....See MoreDyan Weis
