Most of this is personal choice/preference. There are no hard and fast rules. Do you like the look of two pulls/drawer on wider drawers? If so, you could get all one size and put one on drawers less than, say, 30" and two on any 30" or wider. You usually do not have to worry about pulling a drawer unevenly with two pulls. As long has you have good quality drawer hardware, you shouldn't have any problems. We put knobs on doors and our 6" pullouts and pulls on all other pullouts and all drawers. In our case, we put one on drawers = 30". I think the 2-pull look looks more like fine furniture, and I happen to like the look. If I had it to do over, I think I might have put two pulls on the 27" drawers... As to the 6" pullouts, our pulls (5") were too wide to fit horizontally and I don't like the look of vertical pulls, so we went with knobs. We store heavy pots & pans and heavy glass dishes in many of the two-pull drawers. I usually use just one hand/pull to open drawers and have not yet hand any issues. If you prefer one pull/drawer, then most will look fine on the drawer widths you listed; none are that wide. I suggest picking a medium-sized pull and just using the same size. You can drive yourself crazy scouring the net and stores looking for the same pull in various sizes. Whatever you choose, I suggest only purchasing two or three of them and them mocking them up on your drawers to see (1) which look you prefer, (2) how you want to place them, and (3) whether they fit your hands and/or fingers (i.e., comfort). We ended up with two different manufacturers for our knobs & pulls (both birdcage in antique iron) b/c the knobs in one (Dec Har) fit our hands better (the stem was a little longer) and the pulls in the other (Siro) had nicer curves. Bottom line....what looks are you drawn to? That will tell you how you should place your hardware. I do have a pic of how I placed my knobs... As to our pulls, we centered them on the drawers fronts, except the trash pullout. The pull on the trash pullout is on the frame. Good things to think about--thanks! I ordered a few knobs/pulls and will test them for sharpness. I can put them in my bathroom for a test run. I decided my paper mockups don't do a good job of representing the bulkiness (or lack of bulkiness of the pulls; I needed to cut out the middles. Zwizzle, I agree with you on the function of one pull (or knob, or whatever). It just seems right for function. These drawers are big (in addition to being wide, the interior space is about 28" front-to-back), and will hold heavy stuff, so if I think I'll be tugging from one offcenter handle, I should avoid the 2-handle setup. Maybe I can mix a large rectangular bar with these pulls if they pass the pain test. So, back to knob shopping. Do y'all think black is the way to go for handles that don't stick out? The countertop here will be stainless steel, faucets and (probably temporary) lights chrome, but house-ish metals are brass (doorknobs, window hardware, etc.). I think a dirty brass might be alright but I don't want anything sparkly. At least I don't think so.

My experience with using 2 pulls on a wide drawer has not been good. So for this kitchen I will only be using 1 pull per drawer. When you have 2 pulls on a drawer, it takes two hands and often you already have something in one hand. Or, if you just use one of the 2 pulls to open the drawer, it creates stress to the drawer on one side, and also the pull will loosen over time from being asked to pull the entire drawer open from one side. As a result, I am using 1 pull for my drawers. I am using different sizes. Just my taste, but I don't like all one pull size for the entire kitchen. I have read about the 1/3 rule, and the pulls I am choosing, the Top Knobs Princetonians, have many sizes. When deciding between two sizes that both fit roughly the 1/3 rule, I get the smaller one. The wider pulls are expensive, but as a percentage of the cost of my entire reno which is multi-thousands, I am spending about $450 for my pulls. The majority of mine are the 11-11/32" size which are about $13 each. I am getting 4 different sizes in all (includes 2 pulls that are 15" long hung vertically for pull-out pantries). I don't think it's that bad to spend a couple hundred more to get the size that looks good. The pulls really make a difference to how the entire kitchen looks.

As a person who HATES ANY SORT OF PREP, and while I sympathize with someone wanting to jump in and start drilling, even I am smart enough to know that a LITTLE time up from with a jig will save a lot of time later AND give a consistent quality product. Now.... if he doesn't want to take the time to adjust the doors so that all the gaps are consistent and everything matches up correctly - then using a jig won't be for him - because that will just draw attention to the adjustment problem! And really - getting the adjustments 'just so' really make a kitchen look their absolute best. In fact, a well adjusted / perfect / even less expensive cab can look way better than an expensive one with crappy or no adjustment.
