Agree with Miss CP... Don't bother with the upgrade. Our production home will be finished soon (week, week and a half), and we chose one of the "standard" paints. Sooooo glad we didn't upgrade to a different color, because the builder used cheap, chalky, watered-down flat paint for EVERY wall and ceiling (even in bathrooms and the kitchen, argh)... I would have hated to upgrade the color, for them to use that God-awful excuse for flat paint, and still be stuck repainting the whole dang house.

We need to paint the new house with 1 color for walls and ceiling with white trim. Thinking of using BM Timson Sand. I have off white cabinets with glaze and use a colonial blue island. Medium brown (maybe..still looking) wood floors. Most furniture is medium to dark wood with beige and warm blue accents. Not much natural light because of trees so I want to use a color that will help reflect the light. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

OMG there is nothing to consider with respect to the room and the color of he sofa. You choose the color of the sofa based on a color scheme you want to execute. Your walls and floor are absolutely neutral, so think about what you like. Please avoid gray unless it is your favorite color ever. Soon gray will look like avocado green if it is not done very purposefully. Navy is a very popular choice for sofas right now, so is emerald green. Are you interested in those kind of jewel tone? They work nicely with traditional and contemporary decors. You can mix them with a great variety of patterns, which I really like. Camel and white are also nice possibilities for a sofa. Do you have thoughts about a rug, curtains, anything else? Is there a style of sofa you like? You have a great room. Don't box yourself in just yet. Think about a big picture, then start drilling down to specifics.

Benjamin Moore Coventry Grey is a great option for this pallet and will make your white cabinets and countertops pop, along with working well with your flooring. If that color is too dark, try Revere Pewter since it is a Greige that works well with warm woods and with cool greys! Good luck with the new digs! ♥
